Its only been 35 years in the waiting but today marks the release of a promo video for Sex Pistols’s classic ‘Holidays in the Sun’. Unlike the Sex Pistols other single’s from the infamous ‘Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols’ (‘Anarchy in the UK’, ‘God Save The Queen’ and ‘Pretty Vacant’) no promo video for ‘Holidays in the Sun’ was ever filmed.
The newly released promo video was edited by longtime Sex Pistols collaborator Julien Temple and has been compiled from previously unreleased footage especially for use on the limited edition super deluxe box set ‘Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols’.
Temple comments on the vibrant video saying:
“The live performance was shot using one camera and shows the extraordinary captivating quality of the band at the time. There was shock in the room, it was hypnotising, contagious, and unfolded right in front of you. It was filmed in Penzance in September 1977, the Pistols arrived unannounced and the audience couldn’t believe what they were getting”
Limited edition super deluxe box set ‘Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols’ is due to be released September 24th through Universal Music UK.
UK indie label A Wolf At Your Door Records have announced their latest signing as Post-hardcore Brighton based band Eager Teeth.
Eager Teeth formed just over 18 months ago from the ashes of Telegraphs, Chaos Days and This City and have already started to cause a stir with their nostalgic brand of alternative post-hardcore. The band have spent much of this summer in the studio with emerging producer pair Thomas Mitchener and Steve Sears (Gallows, Spycatcher) tracking their brilliant self-titled debut album, which is set for release early next year.
AWAYDR are certainly an exciting label to join, having launched Deaf Havana’s career and with up and coming artists Marllory Knox and Hildamay on their roster. To mark the beginning of the AWAYDR and Eager Teeth partnership, album track ‘Exorcise Bike’ has been made available for FREE DOWNLOAD, you can grab it below.

This year’s Massacre party in association with Front is now sold out. The party will be held on The Battersea Barge, Tideway Dock/Tideway Walk/Kirtling St, London, SW8 5PZ from 8pm until late. (3am ish)
We welcome special guest DJs Eddy Temple Morris (XFM Remix show), Stereotype, Johnny Doom & Matt Stocks (Kerrang! Radio), Talita Two Shoes (Total Rock), Phoebe Winter (Planet Rock). Expect a serious mash up of classic tunes to make this the best night out you will have this year.
Don’t forget that the best part of the night is that the clocks go back at 2am meaning you get an extra hour of partying!
The address of the boat is The Battersea Barge, Tideway Dock/Tideway Walk/Kirtling St, London, SW8 5PZ. For some, this boat can be hard to find, so look out for a small alleyway next to the Thames Water Company building on Nine Elms Lane (A3205). Walk down this alleyway and at the end of it, you will see the boat. It’s down the road to Battersea Dogs Home, so if we have any casualties to deal with amongst the Zombies that are on board, we will drop you off there at the end of the night.
On a serious note though, knowing that the boat is moored and not sailing, please be aware that your safety is our main concern and also in your own hands at this party. Crossfire will not take responsibility for your actions once you are on-board the Battersea Barge. When you arrive, the likelihood is that the boat will be beached, but by 1am, the tide is scheduled to rise and be 18 metres in depth. Yes, that’s extremely deep. It will also be freezing cold, windy and very dangerous, so look after yourself and your friends and we will all have a fantastic night out as usual.
When you reach the boat you will need to bring your ID to confirm your tickets. If your ticket is in someone else’s name, then make sure you have their full details and booking code as they will match the names on the list at the door. Our friendly security guys will greet you, please give them a hug as they are there for your safety. The boat takes all sorts of credit cards etc but note that there is no cash point on-board and none nearby so plan ahead.
Please note that there will be no tickets available on the door. but tickets may become available on the FB event page if people pull out. See you there!

If we had a spare $32,000 right now, we would not hesitate to invest it into Scott Crawford’s Washington DC punk scene documentary ‘Salad Days’ that should hopefully come to fruition in 2013.
Scott, like us grew up obsessed with the DC punk scene, listening to bands such as Fugazi, Minor Threat, 3, Bad Brains and so many others that he decided to start filming with various bands, promoters and locals who were active in the scene to tell the full story of how this movement, this energy haven became so popular with youth culture and spread to the likes of us here in London.
“Salad Days: The Birth of Punk Rock in the Nation’s Capital” needs funding so if you are reading this and have a few quid tucked away then spend it on something that will educate and inspire another generation that will hopefully kickstart another music scene that means something and will be looked back on fondly just as this is.
Take in this new documentary trailer and look forward to someone out there stepping up.
Much loved emo/post-hardcore group Basement have announced details of their forthcoming -and final- album as well as publishing a track for streaming.
Lead single ‘Spoiled‘ -which can be heard below- is taken from their sophomore full length ‘Colourmeinkindness’, due out 22nd October 2012 via Run For Cover Records.
The band are due for an indefinite hiatus after the album release and two final sold-out shows (November 16th at The Well, Leeds
and November 17th London Underworld). The young band quickly developed a cult following and will surely be missed. Expect a full review of ‘Colourmeinkindness’ to follow soon…
The King of Party Mr Andrew W.k. has paid tribute to everyone’s favourite Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Harry. In case you missed it, naughty boy Harry has been back in the news lately for his party antics and naked frolicking in a Vegas hotel room (pick up any tabloid for continued gossiping…).
The cleverly named“Harry Hard” t-shirt hit the ‘shelves’ of Andrew W.K.’s store today, and is able to purchase here.
In other news related to this story, check out our video interview with Andrew W.K. here and wish Harry the best of luck as he returns to Afghanistan as part of a four month tour as an Apache helicopter pilot.
Late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray‘s former doctor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with his death in May 2010. The physician Daniel Baldi prescribed the “high-dose prescription narcotics” that killed Gray. Gray was found dead in his hotel room with an autopsy showing that the 38-year-old overdosed on morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute.
Reportedly Gray’s death is one of eight over which Baldi has been charged following fatal overdoses. Baldi has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His lawyer, Guy Cook made the following statement:
“It is unprecedented to turn unfortunate deaths or medical results into a crime against a doctor. Unexpected deaths can occur in severe, chronic pain patients unrelated to medical treatment. This is especially true with patients who are drug addicts or drug abusers.”
Meanwhile Slipknot have also released a statement concerning the sensitive issue:
“As the loss of our brother Paul Gray is still very fresh for us in the Slipknot family, this new development has us all in a state of anger and sadness. The fact that this person took advantage of our brother’s illness while he was in a position to help others has outraged everyone in our family.
We can only hope that justice will be served so this can never happen to anyone else ever again! Our thoughts go out to the families of the other victims. We plan to cooperate as much as we possibly can to ensure this tragedy is never repeated, and to make sure this man pays for what he has done.”
At Crossfire our thoughts are with all those concerned, in particular Slipknot and Gray’s family.
