Gravity Skateparks have brightened up the Surrey skate scene this week. This newly built park that boasts a freshly coated bright, red and yellow paint job can be found at the The Herons Leisure Centre on the Kings Road in Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2QA.
August’s epic Vans Downtown Showdown in London’s Spitalfields market attracted thousands and also welcomed various Vans pro’s on the day too. In the melee over East, we bumped into Baker Skateboards’ Australian ripper, Dustin Dollin and sat down for a quick chat about his skateboarding life.
Dustin is one of skateboarding’s most animated characters and also backs it up with some of the best skating out there, so it was a pleasure to share a beer and shoot the shit with him in a noisy bar.. The Vans UKSA National Skateboarding Championships returns this year with a change of venue.
Previously held at Adrenaline Alley in Corby, the event that boasts £10,000 in prize money has been relocated to the impressive XC skatepark in Hemel Hempstead and will take place on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd October.
The main change this year is that the XC has no vert ramp so the prize money will be split down to 20th place split between bowl, pool and street.
The venue has a large spectator capacity but there’s a limited amount of skate/spectate tickets available (35 places). This will you to skate the pool/bowl and mini ramp all day, watch the comp, have a ringside view and allow you to skate in the pool jam if you want. Contact the venue to buy in advance and for any other ticket info on 01442 228799.
