Simon Evans Altamont t-shirt series

British skater Simon Evans is the latest guest artist for Altamont and has designed two exclusive t-shirt designs that are available this month. Simon’s artwork reflect the stains left on society by the poor and the rich and bring something totally unique to Altamont’s ever growing clothing range that also include works with G.G Allin in this recent Spring collection.

Evans grew up in our local area skating South London, Surrey and London’s street spots and made his mark back then by hooking up with New Deal. His graphic works can now be seen in galleries worldwide showcasing his irony and absurd humour to enlighten the eyes of those who peep into his world.

Watch this recent video interview for a brief insight on Simon’s life with classic footage from Southbank days of old and much more. It’s great to see that his art and vision has travelled so far. In fact, if you are reading this Simon, the last time we skated together you borrowed an elbow pad off me at the Worcester Park spine ramp, but it never came back – please post it to the address below mate…

G.G. Allin Altamont tees

ggallin_altamont_tee

Altamont are rolling out the grit this week with the release of newest tee featuring none other than G.G. Allin. This mosher famed for his rock and roll antics on stage covered in human excrement and bile passed away on the bog after a show in NY back in 1993 following an overdose, so this 20th anniversary tee marks the legend that he was and has also now become.

Merle Allin-brother and founding member of “The Murder Junkies,” allowed Altamont access to drawings G.G. made during his time in prison, as well as never-before-seen photographs. Merle chose his favorite images for a series of Altamont tees celebrating G.G. Allin’s extraordinary life.

Fourstar Trujillo Signature SS Woven Shirt

Knowing that our winter has been so tiring since last November and skating has been limited as a result of the freezing temperatures, look forward to having some freedom again from wearing big jackets and woolly hats. As the Spring kicks in, short sleeve shorts will be needed to cope with the heat that we have missed all winter and it cannot come soon enough.

If you have already started to look around for some new threads, TNT has a new short sleeve woven workwear shirt out on Fourstar this month for those who like simple but effective clothing to skate in. This tough little number should take a few slams and comes out the bag in either vertical stripe or solid slub chambray. Available in Pirate and Blue colours in your local skate shop now.

Fourstar Koston Stretch Denim Pant

Are you that bloke that can’t tre flip perfectly because your jeans don’t allow your legs to widen that extra two inches? The solution has been out there for years with the combination of cotton and polyester but Fourstar have nailed it in their latest Spring 2013 collection. Every signature jean is made with both so that the denim is allowed to stretch slightly, meaning you can actually move and are not limited when you skate.

Eric Koston’s new signature pant was relased last week and comes in either slim jim or standard fit. I chose the black ones with a button fly but they also have zips and come in Indigo Stonewash, Indigo Rinse, Black Stonewash and Black Rinse colours. Grab some of these to get you through the summer month’s ahead and you will thank Fourstar come September.

Death Skateboards Ben Schroeder guest deck

benschroeder_deathskateboardsDeath Skateboards have released a one-off guest board this week for skate legend Ben Schroeder. Ben was involved in a head on collision with a car back in August 2011. He was hillbombing at 40mph and a car hit him at mach 10 and then ran over him. The car stopped with the tyre on top of his left leg resulting in his shin bone (tibia) being broken in two.

Speaking to Nick Zorlac last night he said: “I thought it would be a good time to do a Ben Schroeder guest board on Death. One because he one of skateboarding’s all time greats, and two because he needs some help right now. These decks just landed, are a limited edition and have turned out great. Graphic by Jason Davey.”
