Butthole Surfers hit the UK

Butthole Surfers have announced details of a new UK tour for July.

The band will play six dates across the country and will be joined by Jeff Pinkus on bass who was in the band between 1986 and 1994. The dates are:

July

18th – Bristol Carling Academy (July 18)
19th – Manchester Academy 2 (19)
20th – Glasgow ABC1 (20)
22nd – Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (22)
23rd – Nottingham Rock City (23)

Rilo Kiley man to release album

Rilo Kiley‘s bass player is releasing a solo album.

Pierre de Reeder will release The Way That It Was in August and the record will feature 11 songs and was co-produced by Dave Trumfio. The other members of the Rilo Kiley feature in parts throughout the record. The tracklisting is:

Doomtree side-project kicks off

Two of Minneapolis’ Doomtree crew have unleashed a side-project.

Rapper Mike Mictlan and producer Lazerbeak of the collective have come together to become Hand Over Fist. Their MySpace recently went up and describes the duo as: The Wings & Teeth, The Shotgun & The Meatcleaver, The Beats The Rhymes. With the brilliant Prize Fight on the player to give you a taste of what’s to come, you have no excuse not to love them.

Foreign Beggars launch new night

Foreign Beggars are launching the new Truman Brewery venue in June.

The multi-national crew will be heading up the “Brand Spankin’ New Launch” at Vibe Live! on June 26th which will also see performances from Dubai’s Abri and France’s Rouges A Levres with our very ogood friend Last Skeptik on the decks. Deerhoof release new album

Deerhoof have finished their new album.

Offend Maggie will be released on the Kill Rock Stars label and the band will release one song from the album as a downloadable written score for fans to record and share themselves. Green Day to tour as alter egos

Green Day have dropped a hint they are to tour the UK.

The band’s alter-egos, Foxboro Hot Tubs, left a message on their MySpace page suggesting a trip to the UK might be on the cards, saying:

“Thanks to all the Tub Heads for coming out for our first tour. Will there be more? I got you on my mind, England.”
