Australian duo Bumblebeez are hitting London in June.
The brother-and-sister combo of Chris and Pia Colonna, will headline at the Hoxton Bar And Kitchen on June 17th, showcasing tracks from their album Prince Umberto & The Sister Of Ill.
Support comes from South London’s No Lay and DJ Dreamtime.
Dub Warrior Lee Scratch Perry recently did an interview with Fact Magazine.
We’re not exactly sure what he’s talking about in the interview, but check this out as a sample of the gold he came out with when asked what inspires him to create music:
“My shit. I respect my shit, because when I’m hungry, my shit feeds me. I know that the food that I eat was my shit and still is my shit, and I know that the water that I drink when I was thirsty still is my piss. So I respect my piss and I respect my breath of life. If it wasn’t for my shit, I wouldn’t be here now, and if it wasn’t for my piss I wouldn’t be talking to you. My shit is my doctor and my piss is my psychiatrist.”

The Doctor’s Orders celebrates its 3rd Birthday in July.
Spin Doctor’s night will be taking place at Herbal in London on American Independence Day – July 4th and will feature Spin Doctor himself alongside J-Zone, Louis Logic, Benji B, Mr Thing and the Beer & Rap crew [Stig, Dr Syntax and DJ Nonames].

Muse have said they will release their new songs “organically” in the future.
The band explained that this meant they had a “canvas to do whatever you want” and drummer Dom Howard stated:
“The traditional format of releasing an album on CD is not the most common thing a new music buyer or listener would typically go and get from a shop these days. “Not that we’re against the concept of releasing an album in the traditional format at all. It’s just the way the world and technology is evolving, it’s presenting a canvas to do whatever you want and just release music as and when it is ready to release. It can happen much more organically.
Mike Patton and The Melvins will curate the next Nightmare Before Christmas.
The All Tomorrow’s Parties event will take place at Butlins in Minehead on December 5th, 6th and 7th, with the line up so far looking like this:

Kurt Cobain’s ashes have apparently been stolen.
Reports over the weekend suggest that the Nirvana frontman’s remains, which had been kept secret, were taken from the house of his widow Courtney Love. The report also said that the ashes were kept with “a lock of his hair” and were taken with jewellery and some clothes. Love said:
“They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again.”
The Adolescents are to hit the UK in July.
The band will be playing shows in the US, Japan and Europe as well as their dates over here. They are currently working on their next album which has no release date set as yet. The UK dates are:

The UK DMC Championships are happening in July.
Thursday 17th July will see the Islington Academy hosting the UK final, following the nationwide heats which are already underway. The winner will then go on to represent the UK at the World DJ Championships at the Indigo2 in September. Past winners include the likes of DJ Blakey, Plus One and the Scratch Perverts, with JFB defending his UK crown.
The event will be hosted by Cutmaster Swift and MC Trip with Million Dan, Le Shadow, Hobbit and DJ Skitz providing cover throughout. DJ Atom and DJ Pfel from legendary French crew C2C will also turn up to perform as Beattorrent. It’s going to be huge.
The Levellers have spoken out about their new single.
Burn America Burn is out on June 2nd as a free download and the band have said:
“We have written a consciously political record, not as a manifesto which is how people used to take our lyrics but as a reaction to apathy – something we’re all guilty of. The songs on the album are observations on topics including war, the media, government, betrayal, life choices and broken dreams. Burn America Burn is about that country imploding from within, using the Virginia Tech massacre as an example. The song is from the gunman’s point of view.”
