In related punk news, look out for the killer new book (that we are currently reading) by Jon Savage titled ‘Punk: An Aesthetic’. Jon’s work is outstanding at usual and a must read.

Rock legends BLACK SABBATH have announced the title of their new album, ’13’ over the weekend, which will be released this coming June. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are all involved, but Bill Ward’s involvement on drums has been overlooked following last summer’s tour where Ward was also not involved.
Bill Ward has been replaced by Brad Wilk who has previously hit drums for Rage Against The Machine. So sad to think that they could do this to Bill after all these years. We also noticed that their new website has chopped Bill’s image from every photo.
BBC Wales have run a story today stating that Lost Prophets frontman Ian Watkins has been arrested for child sex abuse. The arrest came after Watkins was found to have engaged in sexual activity with a female under 13 and also found in possession and distribution of indecent images of children.
This is obviously shocking news to wake up to. Thoughts going out to everyone connected with the band throughout what must be a difficult time.
American metal groove powerhouse DevilDriver have recently announced that they are now in studio recording their sixth album, having recently signed onto Napalm Records after the end of an eight year relationship between DevilDriver and Roadrunner Records.
The yet untitled album is being recorded at the Audio Hammer Studios in Florida.
The notorious metal band has also said that a “worldwide tour” will be announced in August 2013.
Frontman Dez Fafara spoke to Loudwire.com, saying: “Every record is different, that being said I thought ‘Pray For Villains’ was kind of an out of the box record for us, I thought ‘Beast’ was a weird out of the box record for us – we’ve kind honed back in to where we are.
Fafara continued: “This new record sounds a lot like the first three records, it’s got an intense groove to it and I’m really happy – the writing is going extremely well.”

Essex ravers The Prodigy are set to take over London later this month as they raise hell for three nights at Brixton Academy. The legendary ‘Omen’ band, known for their phenomenal live performances, will be joined by acts such as Caspa, Nosia, Jaguar Skillz, South Central, and more.
The Prodigy kicked off their 2012 with a high as they were the final headline band to be announced for Download Festival 2012. The band debuted three songs for the first time on home soil. Early in the year it was announced that the follow up album to their 2009 studio album ‘Invaders Must Die’ will be titled ‘How To Steal A Jet Fighter’.
Band member Liam Howlett said: “All the dubstep stuff that’s around, we’re loving it, but that’s not our game. We won’t go near it. He continued to say: “We’ve always had respect for the masters who do their game, those boys who do that sound [dubstep], that’s what they do. We know what we do, and when any Prodigy record hits it’ll still feel fresh.”
There is currently no release date for the new album.
Dates:
18 December – Brixton Academy, London
19 December – Brixton Academy, London
20 December – Brixton Academy, London
