Girl Skate Jam at St Albans 30th June

This year’s Girl Skate Jam UK will be held on Saturday 30th June, between 1-6pm, at Pioneer Skate Park in St Albans.

The day will kick off with a 2 hour jam for all, followed by Under and Over 18’s street comps. The miniramp jam will follow with the day being rounded off with the Sponsored competition. Nikita will again be hosting a riders BBQ. Sponsors include Cooler Magazine, Rogue Skateboards, Vans, Rockstar Bearings, Death, DC, Lakai and Rubicon Skate Camp who are putting up £200 prize money for the sponsored comp.

Rubicon Skate Camp is also offering £30 off the price of their Girl Skate Camps – this applies to anyone who enters or comes along to support the other riders. the amount will be increased to £90 off to any of the riders who finish on the podium in any of the categories. Kennington Skatepark refurbishment first photo

The work to bring Kennington Skatepark to life has started. Converse just tweeted this image from the site. Get hyped on the developments as they are leaked. More info about what is proposed for this legendary park from their Fix To Ride program can be found here but the opening date is Saturday 26th May. There will be a jam, put it in your dairy.

SAMPLED: Sicker than your average sample sale

Being huge fans of sample sales, we are proud to announce that we have partnered with Sampled this week for their forthcoming get together. On Saturday 26th and 27th May, the sample sale to end all sample sales will be live and direct from Bar Music Hall in East London packed full of goodness so get hyped on what’s about to hit London this month.

Sampled is not just a bunch of clothes thrown in the corner for you to rummage through, it combines a top quality streetwear sample sale with a record fair and a solo art sale. Expect some of the best clothing brands at a fraction of shop prices, sat alongside many of the UK’s best record dealers selling crates of vinyl, DJ sets with a selection of original Soul, Jazz, Funk, Disco & Hip Hop breaks. There will also be a nail bar for the ladies set up.

Samples of the best threads are up for grabs from brands such as Stussy, Alife, Silas, Fly 53, Famous Stars & Straps, DTA, Dephect , Generic Surplus, Good Enough, Rogue Status, Expensive Taste, The Wild Ones, Any Forty, PXL, Armory, Stones Throw, & Chief Rocka. Also expect art dealers and collectives representing some of the most sought after artists in the land.

War of the Thistles event info May 2012

The Scottish skate romp that is War of the Thistles returns this year, regardless of the fact that its compatriot event War of the Roses is taking a sabbatical. The Scots will be welcoming skaters across the country on the weekend of 26th-27th of May with Transition Extreme skatepark hosting the Saturday and Transgression Skatepark in Edinburgh taking care of Sunday’s carnage. Black Sabbath to play Birmingham on May 19th

Black Sabbath (or the line up that they are calling Black Sabbath) have announced an intimate show this May ahead of their headline slot at Download Festival on June 13th.

The band will play the O2 Academy in Birmingham on May 19th, which will be their first show in their home town in over thirteen years.

Streetfest 2012 returns to London on May 6th

Streetfest returns to Old Street again on the bank holiday Sunday 6th May so get ready for more mini ramp action, music, graf and a whole bunch of street culture from London locals.

Vans Skate Camp to run in Colchester this Easter

If you are based in the Essex area and looking for skateboard tuition throughout the Easter holidays, then look into the Vans Skate Camp that is being run though Ramp Rage skatepark in Colchester.
