Even in this day and age, the notion of girls playing rock’n’roll is still a novelty to some when it shouldn’t be a factor at all. A band should be judged by their music alone and nothing else and Glasgow quartet The Hedrons crank out some of the finest punked up rock n’roll you’re likely to hear this year by any band be they male, female, animal or alien!

Be My Friend’ is the first single to be released from their debut album out later this Autumn and it’s a glorious rush of spiky adrenalized pop-punk that struts like a peacock and pogos harder than zebadee!

The Hedrons ‘Be My Friend’ single will be the Virgin Digital Download Of The Week in association with NME’ during the first week of its release from the 31st July. As well as being prominently placed at the home page of both Virgin Digital and NME websites, the promotion also runs a weekly tag in the NME’s singles review section. All placements will include single artwork, band photo and/or editorial. You can check out www.virgindigital.com/NME and flip to page 43 of your current NME for a look at what’s to come!

Digital download is exclusively at the Measured Records digital store for pre-order here (available in a digital bundle format, which includes an acoustic version of live favourite ‘I Need You’, and also in a separate live version)

7″ vinyl single is available for pre-order at HMV
