There’s ridiculous manny action in this.
Category: Skateboarding News

This rips from top to toe with a bunch of sick skating and extra footage edited at warp speed for impact. TNT, Tershy, GT and more cane it in SA.
Head here if you missed the first part.
There’s nothing like looking back into UK skate history at footage that has been archived for so long. Our mate Andy Evans has been sat on a bunch of demo footage until this week for Sidewalk‘s Crates series and it’s gold.
In their own words: Part 1 of The Demo’s Episode features footage from the 1991 Powell demo at Bath’s Victoria Park and a combined Faze 7 Real, Plan B and Black Label demo at Shrewsbury from 1992.
A lot of this footage has never been seen before so prepare yourself for footage of Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Mike Manzoori, John Cardiel, Karma, Mark Gonzales, Salman Agah, Tim Brauch (RIP), Alan Peterson, Curtis McCann and more from a time when nobody but skateboarders gave two shits about skateboarding.

No show boating with sushi and fast cars at this shoe launch, just straight up fun with the homies of Lakai for the new Vincent Alvarez pro number at the Griffith Park ditch. Can’t wait for BBQ weather to hit our shores again.

Despite the breaks failing on their tour van and skidding off the road, this heavy crew with TNT, Raven Tershy, Nuge, Pat McClain and Rowan Zorilla got stuck into gnarly spots for this latest Skate Rock video for Thrasher.
Magenta’s “More Cruise”

Nothing like a pool sesh. Lance Mountain, Eric Nash, Stu Graham, Peter Hewitt and Jeff Grosso get amongst it for Cannon Fodder.
“Brick” Online Bonus footage
The Bust Crew’s latest production Brick has a bunch of extra footage released today by Bill Rosenstock with more footage of Gilbert Crockett and the homies in Virginia.

Ed Selego, the former Habitat pro and co-owner of respected skater owned shop MIA in Florida, has spoken of how the skate industry has changed tenfold since the involvement of sports brands. Speaking in a very open and honest interview, he explains how billion dollar corporations have treated independent skate shops with disrespect since they bulldozed their way into the skate scene.
“Nike was the biggest problem for us. We had many good years selling their product, but at the same time they pushed tons of product on us that didn’t sell. They used shops like ours for years to establish the Nike SB brand. Then they opened up distribution to all the corporate stores and started selling direct to consumer. Being the number one shoe brand wasn’t enough for them. They had to exploit the brand to appease Wall St. and their shareholders. They did this with no plan in place for all the skate shops that struggled over the years. They loaded everyone up with a ton of debt then dumped us. It’s really irresponsible for such a large brand to do this and harm the very industry that they have come to be a part of. There is no better example of corporate greed.”
It’s a conversation that has been brewing amongst skater owned shops for years and finally the cracks are starting appear as capitalism exploits the roots of the core skate scene.
