Going on a skate trip this summer? Have an iPhone in your pocket loaded with tunes? We were sent one of these little silicone contraptions last month from LOUD and have chucked it in the bag on various trips now to see if it was an addition that made sense.

This will only work for those who don’t like to lug about speakers that weigh them down – the light traveller who doesn’t analyse quality of music too much and who rocks up to a spot with barely nothing to their name, because the Party Horn is a small, pocket sized, bendy piece of rubber that your iPhone (or iPod) sits in an acts as a speaker. It’s not plugged in, there are no wires, it just hoofs out the sound of your tunes through a wider channel and gives you more than you would get from your shitty iPhone speakers.

It’s actually a genius idea. The most basic needs in life are just that. Don’t expect the bassline of Dead Prez’s ‘It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop’ to suddenly blow up the room once this is set up, as it simply gives you more from your direct source and doesn’t amplify bass like an electrical appliance would, but this perfect little pocket horn is just the ticket for amplifying the party if nobody else gave a shit for packing some speakers. HUF have rolled out Peter Ramondetta’s new pro shoe this week. A vulcanized number with a mix of seude and canvas and a triple wrapped toe for extra wear and tear when you skate. This comes with HUF’s stratosfoam for comfort and durability whilst skating.

These also come in a grey colour too.

It’s roasting out there this month and it seems WESC have a perfect solution to the problem of sticky knees in the Conway’s.

This summer’s most talked about skate shoe comes from Lakai in the shape of the Griffin. Up until I managed to completely annihilate both of my ankles in a bowl 6 weeks ago, these beauties delivered me justice on every session. Low cut, super comfortable and grip-friendly to the tape, the Griffin’s come packed as a shoe you can skate in straight out of the box.

Australian ripper Chima Ferguson has moved up the pro ranks at Vans this week and has his first pro shoe dropping very soon. It’s a low top signature model sporting silhouette patterning on a shoe that sits somewhere betweeen the Era and Authentic Vans models that we know well. It’s obviously a vulc number, comes with the classic original waffle outsole and is meant to be as light as a feather but packed with support. We do not have any samples here to back that up right now as this is from their ‘Fall’ collection, so keep your eyes peeled.
