Fall Out Boy announce reunion and confirm new album

After speculation of a Fall Out Boy reunion, it has today been confirmed – a huge tour has been announced alongside a new single and album. The band posted this message on their website this afternoon:

“When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It’s why we started fall out boy in the first place. This isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. the future of fall out boy starts now. Save rock and roll…”

Their new album, ‘Save Rock And Roll’, will be released May 6th 2013. The ‘Dance, Dance’ band will be performing in London on February 25th at the Underworld, Camden.

Tool album delayed after scooter crash

Tool_logoThe follow up to Tool‘s last album ‘10,000 Days’ is said to be held up due to one of the band members crashing a scooter on wet a wet road. Alledgedly both drummer Danny Carey and British bass player Justin Chancellor came out of the incident with several broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder.

The band have said that: “Because of the physical nature of the musical instrument involved, nine days of jamming were lost, although I’m happy to report that the person involved is recovering nicely, so much so, in fact, that writing sessions resumed last Monday (21 Jan), despite it being a holiday for many“.

Reading & Leeds festival set to announce second headliner

Festival Republic yesterday announced that the Reading and Leeds Festival will be announcing their second headline act on Monday 4th February.

So far legendary rapper Eminem has been announced to headline, with acts such as Deftones, Boy Better Know, Alt-J and Sub Focus also playing. Festival organiser Melvin Benn recently announced that there will be a Dance stage and Radio 1Xtra stage for the first time ever, with the arenas expanding by 25%.

2012 saw Foo Fighters, Kasabian and The Cure headline alongside acts such as Paramore, Florence and The Machine.

‘Live firing’ on Twitter as 60 HMV staff lose their jobs

An upset and dissapointed HMV has kept the stores official Twitter (@hmvtweets) followers informed as they used the stores official Twitter account

The first tweet said, “We are tweeting live from HR where we’re all being fired! Exciting!! hmvXFactorFiring”

The unknown employee continued to tweet, “There are over 60 of us being fired at once! Mass execution, of loyal employees who love the brand. #hmvXFactorFiring”

The Twitter account, which has almost 65,000 followers signed off with saying “So really, what have we to lose? It’s been a pleasure folks! Best wishes to you all!”

HMV recently went into administration, but it has been reported Hilco have paid £40 million of HMV’s £120 million debt.
