Pete Doherty will headline the Park Stage at Glastonbury this year.
This year’s festival will take place between June 27th and 29th though it has not been announced which date Doherty will play but it has been announced that CSS will headline the stage over the course of the weekend.
Doherty will also be playing the Royal Albert Hall on April 26th, which is now sold out.
Mates Of State have announced a release date for their new album.
The husband and wife team up will be putting their fifth studio album Re-Arrange Us out on Barsuk Records and will feature a grand piano instead an organ. It will mark the band’s first album since 2006’s Bring It Back.
Jamie Lidell will be hitting the UK as part of his world tour.
Lidell will no doubt showcase songs from his new record which is out on April 28, including the single Little Bit Of Feel Good. The UK dates are:

The Beastie Boys are working on their next album.
The trio, who released instrumental album The Mix-Up last year, are in the early stages of the new record with MCA saying:
“It’s in the early stages of development, but it sounds cool to me. We make music and eat lunch. Sometimes we fantasize about how cool it would be if we had a chef that cooked lunch every day.”

Converse are marking their 100 year anniversary with a star studded advertising campaign.
The campaign aims to “visually connect” Converse icons from the past and present with Chuck Taylors being the connecting shoe. The ads will feature the likes of Ian Curtis, Sid Vicious, Common, Joan Jett, M.I.A., Karen O and Billie Joe Armstrong.
A Joy Division documentary is set to hit the UK on May 2nd.
Joy Division, directed by Grant Gee examines the band’s story through personal photos, period films, newly discovered audiotapes and performance footage. Interviews with Tony Wilson also appear with all of the band contributing. Peter Hook has praised the documentary calling it “the perfect answer” to last year’s film Control.
Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan will release their second collaboration album Sunday At Devil Dirt, later this year.
Campbell of Belle & Sebastian and Lanegan from Screaming Trees released their first album in 2006 and the duo have continued the blueprint from that record with Campbell writing the music and Lanegan adding joint vocals. The album is set to be released on May 5th.

Rumours of the band’s demise came after they cancelled their UK tour dates, but frontwoman Hayley Williams denied they band were over, though being particularly vague about it all said:
“It would be better for us to just be honest about what’s going on – even though, it was a pretty vague explanation. Man, some of the rumors that I’ve heard going around are insane! It’s weird how out of hand things can get even when you just try to tell a simple truth. (for the record, my eggo is not preggo). Anyway, we just need to take time to make this band the best it can be… and we are doing that now.”

Klaxons are back working on their new album.
The follow up to Myths Of The Near Future is now underway and has been described by Simon Taylor-Davis of the band as “heavy and delirious”. In an interview with BBC 6Music, he went on to say:
“After last year, we were just dead and we needed to stop and breathe and leave each other’s side for a little bit so everything’s been shuffled a bit further forward – or backwards – but hopefully the record will be out this year still.”
