Lakai’s ‘Fully Flared’ premiere hits London

Leicester Square was literally blown away last night by the Lakai boys and their Fully Flared video.

When we say blown away, the intro sequence had us all diving for the bomb shelters, just you wait. In attendance were Brandon Biebel and Mike Carroll, whose sections were chronicles of ridic, and other outstanding sections from the likes of Mike Mo (holy shitting Christ that kid is good), Eric Koston, Scott Johnston, Jesus Fernandez, MJ, Rick Howard, The Royal Family, Guy Mariano and many more.

Just to let you know, no-one at the London premiere cried during Mariano’s section, unlike some kid in Los Angeles when it was shown, apparently! The after party shenanigans round the corner left a few people with soreheads, naturally, the evidence of which can be found below in yet another booze-fuelled Night Raids, coming very soon!

The Cool Kids

Names are all important in hip hop, that’s a given. Sticking “Lil” or “Young” in front of your name just doesn’t cut the mustard around these parts so 99% of the rap scene are eliminated from the Buzz Chart consideration. I wanna hear some cats that throw down ridiculously groggy minimal beats AND have the balls to back it up with confidence on the mic which is why I’m bringing The Cool Kids to the Crossfire charts.

With a name like that, they have to step it up otherwise they’ll look about as stupid as I did in Moose’s tight jeans at the last Crossfire Boat Party. Thankfully the duo step it up like they’re wearing size 100 kicks, throwing in the booming lyrical prowess over the aforementioned grog.

Their EP, Totally Flossed Out, is banger after lack-of-melody banger and they really know how to rock a track to fuck. So whilst I could have chosen any track from it, the track you can hear if you click the link above is 88 which features electro popping in the background of the chorus and some crunching guitars inbetween.

The kids are fucking cool.

Queens Of The Stone Age removed from rehab

(Where they were playing not staying)

Queens Of The Stone Age were asked to leave a Californian rehab facility where they were playing an intimate set for patients last week after they opened their set with ‘Feel Good Hit Of The Summer‘, a song which features the line “Nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy and alcohol…c-c-c-c-c-cocaine”.

This didn’t go down too well with staff at the facility who promptly pulled the plug on the band’s amps and ushered them off the premises.
