The Three Amigo’s winter edit
Last year The Gyppo Army were on the road, filming as they go, releasing edits and generally getting amongst it. Kev McKeon then decided to get a skate shop up and running in Camden with 2 other dudes to bring North London the goods they need to keep going. The Three Amigos Skateboard Shop was launched and is still rocking. Here’s an edit that went live on the web last night featuring Elliot Rees Jones, Marcus Adams, Doug Parmiter and Jeremy Jones put together by Jack Maddison and Marcus Adams.
All Tomorrow’s Parties have announced that curator and Simpsons nutjob Matt Groening have added Iggy and the Stooges to the lineup for the weekend at Butlins in Minehead on May 7th-9th 2010. Built To Spill were also added to the line up today alongside Coco Rosie, James Chance and Les Contortions, Thee Oh Sees, Juana Molina, Lightning Dust and Konono N1.

Worn By Originals
Not heard about Worn By Originals yet? Ok, they are fairly new to me too, but they have a formula behind a good idea and if you love music as much as we do here at Crossfire, then this might be a good introduction to some clothing you can wear out after skating.
Worn By Originals is sort of a T-shirt brand who’s primary focus was to recreate tees worn by musicians during famous periods of their careers. It’s quite a fun concept, because you can rock what your idols were rocking while they were actually rocking. The range includes a Dread Controls tee Worn By Don Letts from The Clash era, Fuck Art Let’s Dance Worn By Madness and all sorts of other gems like the Money neck tee, worn by Ian Brown from The Stone Roses as well as the Falling Skulls tee, worn by Alice Cooper.
The great thing about these tees, is that they are of superior quality, very soft to the touch, stretchy and has an amazing fit. I’m currently rocking the Oscar Wilde tee, Worn By Morrisey and one of their ultra fresh Woodstock tees, both amazing shirts and get good comments everywhere.
They have a vast variety of different T-shirts and sweats to choose from, each with a different representations on the chest and they come with a custom Polaroid style picture which shows the actual T-shirt in it’s prime, so pop over to their site and check out what they have to offer.

Nike SB/ Fluff book launch
Nike SB have just released a collaborative work with Holland’s Fluff skateboard magazine in which photographer Marcel Veldman travelled Europe for 18 months steady in order to shoot a photo with every single Am rider on their European programme.
Featuring a heavy article by Sidewalk‘s Ben Powell from Ramsgate featuring Colin Kennedy, Mackie, Jasper King Harman, Joey Pressey, Snowy and cohorts, as well as interviews with Jerome Campbell, Marek Zaprazny,Wieger van Wageningen and Simo Makela, skateshops in the Arctic Circle and much much more. The launch party was held at the SB pop- up store in Barcelona and attended by the jet skate beau monde and all other lurkers. \the book is shipping to SB- carrying shops right now!

X-Site Jam this Saturday
It may be under a foot of snow up North right now but it doesn’t stop the session if you have an indoor skatepark nearby. Tom Day, Martyn Hill, Will Golding, Phil Long and many more captured a winter edit from the X-Site Park in Skegness to kick start the New Year.

In the time I’ve been skating, I’ve gone had a complete revolution in the shoe and deck departments. From skating super skinny decks and moonboot style shoes when I started, it’s taken me until now to get comfortable with as wide a deck as possible and the slimmest shoes I can find.
I always think shoes are the critical choice. If you can’t feel your board through those soles then you have no idea what is going on. Having sung the praises of the Emerica Laced not so long ago, I was really keen to get my flippers into a pair of the Reynolds Cruisers as they looked to follow the same simple construction and design.
The first thing that really surprised me with them was how heavy the sole was. Seriously, the weight on these things shocked me as they look very light, but the vulc sole is a really solid bit of rubber. Quickly though, I realised this was a good thing. What let the Laced down was the sole being almost too thin and the inevitable heel bruises that come with it. The Cruisers have beefed up the sole to give you that confidence that no matter how hard you skate that day, you’ll still be able to walk home. The general construction is solid on these too. One-piece toes on skate shoes get rid of the problem of ripped stitching, there’s nothing to snag or wear away and they’re always more comfortable to wear. The same goes for thin laces too, keep them small and out the way and they will never snap.
Despite the thicker sole, the Cruisers still have great board feel and the small amount of cushioning around the ankle is just enough to fill you with confidence that you’re not going to tweak yourself easily. The suede has been taking a serious punishing from recent skates and there still isn’t a mark on it.
Although it might just be me and my freakish feet, but I found that wearing these a half or even whole size smaller than you would normally wear definitely helps. They have a tendency to flop around your foot if you don’t get a snug fit, and the suede will always stretch out to fit better anyway. Other than that, Reynolds has done it again with a simple, strong shoe that will last for ages.
