Quicksand reformed for a show in NY last week and ripped it up by all accounts.
Check out Walter Schreifels and co playing a set of tracks at the Glass House in Pamona, California as part of the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary Shows. Let’s hope they come back to the UK and deliver some goodness here and big ups to Revelation, a record label who released so many amazing releases in their history.
A brand new OFF! video has landed on the interweb overnight for the track “Cracked”.
As you may remember from December 2010’s appeal, Bay Sixty 6 skate park in London was under threat due to various plans being proposed to turn the park into offices. Since then, the owners of the skatepark have fought a hard battle to renew their lease for another two years and the local council now recognise that there needs to be a facility for us. The park will be issuing a statement soon about redeveloping the park which will be more good news for you but this battle has not ended yet, it still needs your help, and it needs it right now.
Why? Because the long term future of the park is still under threat and there’s more for us to do to secure its future.
Proposed plans to put offices on the skatepark site remain. The council have said that an alternative location for the skatepark would have to be provided. BUT there is no specific alternative for relocating the park. The draft plans are not specific enough to guarantee the future of the skatepark and we ask that you join us in petitioning the planning department of Kensington and Chelsea council further.
The new petition is now live and needs your support today at http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/ensure-the-future-of-bay66-skatepark.html to raise awareness of just how important it is to keep this alive over time.

This weekend’s Pro-Tec Pool Party in California provided one hell of a session as Pedro Barros delivered another mammoth set of runs to take home the honours. Kill City Skateboards‘ trip to Oregon reaches its final chapter today as part 4 of this fantastic video series of “Punch an Eagle in flight” drops online. In this final episode the crew hook up with legendary park builder Mark “Red” Scott of Dreamland skateparks, then head north to the mystical Orcas Island. Nothing like another great use of urban spaces. This time, Rocky Norton and Johnny Gomez make good use of the sessions that went down on the ditches of Albuquerque, New Mexico by erecting an art show in the Infamous Indian School Ditch there. These galleries will be moving across ditches around the US accompanied by a full length documentary this September so watch this space and get inspired.

It’s not often that a music video stops you in your tracks, but today we bring you one of the best seen this year. Norwegian Metal band Årabrot are made up of duo Kjetil Nernes and Vidar Evensen based in Oslo, who since 2001 have been pushing their own boundaries of black metal and leading their scene with releases that have received critical acclaim.
Produced by Steve Albini, Årabrot’s latest album Solar Anus is a work of art made up from stripped down drums, a baritone guitar and various vocal techniques from Kjetil Nernes. The end result is a dark soundscape that is relentlessly brutal and mesmeric to the ear touched by the electronic work of touring member Concept Virus, whose production adds even more depth to a broth of some of the deepest riffs out there.
The video, written and directed by Fredrik Hana is a work of art, depicting the solemn existence of Nernes and Evensen, mirthless from the annihilation of their surroundings. When speaking about the video, Hana says: “We have all seen movies where the world goes under and various Charlton Heston’s and Will Smith’s hang out and collect expensive art and drive fancy cars. In this video, we explore what happens when the only survivors are two white trash assholes who are only interested in destroying what is allready destroyed.”
