Malmö Gets Served By Euro Contingent

It didn’t take long for the brand new Stappelbaddsparken Bowl in Malmö, Sweden, to get a proper thrashing, and the Quiksilver Bowlriders was the occasion to bring it on. The constant threat of rain over the weekend of May 19th to 21st, could not dampen the excitement of the huge crowds or riders in attendance. Riders dropped in from all over the Globe, including America, Sweden, France, Spain, Italy and Great Britain of course.

Despite the presence of previous winners and crowd favourites, Omar Hassan and Rune Glifberg, it was a mad mix of talent that fought for top honours. It was so tight that people couldn’t tell if English Andy Scott’s wizardry was going to beat the ballistic skating of Italian Daniel Cardone. There had to be a winner though and it was Daniel Cardone that shone through with some ridiculous speed and height to his tricks, plus that unique smooth stance that has got the Italian’s name of everyone’s list as the one to watch. Better luck next time Andy!

Take note of the top three finalist nationalities- has the European Guard arrived..? With training grounds like Malmö, Courtrai (Belgium), Burnley (UK) or Bologna (Italy) it’s no wonder!
