King of the Ramp breaks bones

The dust has finally settled and Europe’s gnarliest skate comp comes to a close. Of course there were winners, but there were also injuries. Benni Buchwald broke his shoulder but didn’t stop tearing the ramp to shreds with a ruthless frontside 360 over the spine!

This year’s winner was Jeurgen Horrwarth from Berlin, but hot on his tail were the two RomansHackl and Astleitner. No good ramp sesh goes down without some sort of wreckless free for all and one man is always there for the call- Belgium’s David ‘Roest’ Martelleur literally smacked it with a huge fingerflip to tail and a backside tailslide revert on the extension, whilst Stefan Atzl was hungry for the Taco and served out a frontside smith revert.

Finally, despite the dehydration, bruises and possible fractures, dudes got into party mode with Roest, Ferit Bartir, Oliver Gordon and Andi Fugger making good fools of themselves!

1) Jürgen Horwarth (Ger)
2) Roman Hackl (Aut)
3) Roman Astleitner (Aut)
4) Oliver Gordon (Aut)
5) Ralf Edlinger (Aut)
6) Sascha Biehaule (Aut)
7) Stefan Atzl (Aut)
8) David Martelleur (Bel)
9) Manuel Knoflach (Aut)
10) Martin Jurásek (Cz)
11) Kamil Poč (Cz)
12) Ferit Batir (Aut)
13) Andreas Fugger (Aut)
14) Benjamin Buchwald (Aut)
15) Adrian Buchwald (Aut)

Best Tricks: David Martelleur (Fingerflip to Tail / Extension) and Stefan Atzl (Smith Grind Revert / “Taco”)

Worst slam: Benni Buchwald

Is there no stopping Danny Way???

This guy runs the show when it comes to stunts and records on a skateboard. Las Vegas the city of dreams got served a slap of reality on Thursday 6th April when Danny succeeded in bomb-dropping from the top of the Hard Rock Café Guitar (82feet!) into a 65 foot ramp. The drop was a good 20 feet but judging by the footage, Danny hardly broke a sweat.

Chet’ll Fix-It

I wonder how many kids wrote to that Jingle-Jangle cigar smoking fashion mistake pensioner, Jimmy Saville, when they had massive holes in their shoes and delams in their decks..? I doubt Jim’s day-glo shenanigans would have been any help.

Well Chet Thomas has studied the problem and come up with this brand new product that can fill in the gaps that make your life as a skater a misery. Fix-It proposes two products: One for repairing delams and holes in your shoes, and the other for cracks in the pavement – The three things that piss off skaters world wide more than anything.

Seeing as previous similar products have been banned because of misuse and toxic ingredients, Fix-It is here to put a stop to any inconvenience you may be experiencing.

Alan Glass turns Bro!

Alan Glass (better known as ‘Street Lethal‘ for those of intimacy) has come a long way since his days of solitary confinement in an editing suite for blue movies.

Heroin Skateboards took him in to film the grunts the groans of young boys instead, and he has gone on to produce some amazing videos over the years including Everythings Going To Be Alright and Live from Antarctica..

Fos and the team have decided that Alan deserves a little reward for his hard work in this less glamorous line of business with a Bro-Model. A limited run of 100 Bro Models have been pressed and screened with an homage to the great Jim Phillips Rob Roskopp graphic.

This is surely one of the greatest boards ever made, so lift a gothic goblet to the man of the hour- Alan Glass!

Girlie Skate Camps are go!

A survey recently revealed that 25% (that’s a quarter for those who aren’t good with numbers…) of the skate community are female. This will be the third successful year of Girlie Skate Camps spreading the love to all our European sisters. Brand new sessions are waiting for your involvement in Hossegor (France), and Prague (Czech Republic). When in Hossegor, you can stay at the Girlie house and take trips around France and Spain in the Girlie Van. Feel the Fury

blank

Getting sponsored and turning pro is basically a pretty way of endorsing someone’s products. The only difference between the pro and amateur status is that as a pro you sign your name on the product and receive royalties for each item sold. So, everyone knows that a skater who has his name on a board, shoe, wheel etc is raking in a bit of cash, right?

Well, the newest craze in skateboarding is to get your name printed in pretty letters in a metal alloy hanger that you are about to scratch to hell. Yup, the pro truck is de rigueur now and everyone wants a piece of the action.

Fury Trucks don’t escape the rule and have released three pro model trucks from three of skateboarding’s greatest talents- Tony Hawk (White), Tom Penny (Purple)and Arto Saari (Blue). Joining this trio is Diego Buchierri freshly picked from truck sponsor limbo.

Go to the brand new website www.furytruckcompany.com for more info.
