Bastien Salabanzi Off Flip
All good things must come to an end. Love him or hate him Bastien Salabanzi has parted ways with Flip Skateboards.
The Congo born-French bred ripper shot to fame when he hit the contest circuit hard and blew people away with hella consistent runs, doing tricks that most pros hadn’t dreamt of trying to pull during their 60 second dash. Bastien knew there was competition and wasn’t afraid to let everyone know he knew it – Something that would later cause a lot of hate for the Champ.
But Bastien was never one to let critics get the best of him and threw down not one but two amazing parts for the Flip videos. In any case, the Backside boss has been released by Flip and will probably emerge elsewhere.
Where? Who knows… we wouldn’t be surprised if Bastien quit everything and pursued a career as a guitar player, only to come back and kill the competition again and say, “I told you so!”

Helsinki Pro Skate incoming
Our man with the death lens in Europe this summer Guido Gazzi is about to unleash a video feature on this site from the Helsinki Pro Skate Comp in Finland that went down a couple of weeks back.
The comp was won by Globe Shoes rider Eero Anttila who also rides for Alis Skateboards.
Expect a video feature and interview on this site over the next week and if you want to see Eero in action, click here to watch his video part from the most recent Alis video “Who Cares”.

Document’s Big Push completed
This years Big Push organised by Document Skate Magazine went down last weekend in fine style with team riders from Blueprint, Death, A Third Foot and East Skateboards taking part in the carnage.
The Blueprint team had Andrew Brophy on board as a guest who apparently was at the top of his game and Death Skateboards surprise guest this year was none other than a famous pro skater you will know well who was drafted in by Zorlac for the trip. Who could it be?
A Third Foot had a napalm injected maniac onboard their bus as a special guest which was reportedly like a night club on wheels all day every day! Allegedly one of their riders also managed to get kicked off the tour!
You will find out all the details we cannot give away just yet at Document Skate Magazine when they release the footage in a future issue.

I guess we are always looking towards the future and reporting the past here at Crossfire, so we are stoked to let you in on a forthcoming feature series that will start this week here in the Skate Zine.
Many skate photographers worldwide have been invited to take part in a photography feature called the Crossfire Triple Shot where famous skate photographers will be interviewed and also provide us with 3 of their fave photo’s with text that include:
1. Their most inspirational skate photo shot by someone else.
2. The photographers very own favourite ever skate pic.
3. Another fave shot from the photographer that is not skate led.
Invites have been sent to many UK photographers including Richie Hopson, Leo Sharpe, David “Styley” Steel, Wig Worland and many more, plus international guests include Rhino from Thrasher, Swedish photographer Jonas Adolfsson, the legendary Bryce Kanights and many, many more.

Rumours are coming into Crossfire HQ via local skaters who report that Neanderthal Man turned up at Prissick Plaza on Sunday night and ate a kid in front of his two parents.
The child cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age but his parents who were eating a bag of chips and mushy peas at the time, saw the beast run across the manual pad and knock their kid out clean with a club.
This is the 4th sighting of Neanderthal Man in the space of 3 weeks and reports have rocketed since the arrival of This’n’That, the new skate video from Andy Evans.
Pro skater Pete King says “sometimes Romans and Normans have turned up at skate parks getting in the way and scaring the kids but Neanderthal Man just clubs and eats whole, the maddest cannibal on earth right now, first we thought it was bad enough with chavs and now this!“.

Mystic Cup 2006
Prague’s ever-successful skate comp the Mystic Cup has been and gone and it was yet another wild run for all those involved. Always a favourite among the Brazilian contingent, did this year ring like a second coming for the natural Born Skaters from the southern hemisphere. Those in attendance thought so. Another sweet surprise was the ladies comp which saw some serious heat coming from the likes of Evelien Bouillart (rumoured to be getting a model on Etnies in the near fture!) and young Lacey Baker from the States.
