Savoire Faire nearly done

The new Savoire Faire DVD is almost ready, and the website has had some new updates.

This DVD should be amazing due to its strict policy of ‘skaters who skaters want to watch’ being put in. That means the likes of Div Adams, Chris Oliver, Rogie, Dave Snaddon and John Tanner being captured by the lenses of Toby Bachelor, Alex Irvine, Paul Sylvester, Ciaran O Connor, Morph and Kevin Parrott.

Click over to http://savoirfaire.wordpress.com/ for updates and more, including Div’s new part for MotoX 411VM

King of the Craic incoming!

Inspired by Thrashers ‘King of the Road’ and Newcastles ‘King of the How Man‘, Boggin Zine have devised their very own version which should keep everybody happy!

Here is the rough format.

1. The date shall be the first dry weekend in November.

2. Teams should be made up of no more than 7 people, anymore and points will be deducted.

3.If a team needs a filmer one can be designated from a team with more than one cameraman. 4. King of the craic will be points based for a fairer result.

5. Teams are to be entered by the Thursday prior to the weekend.

6. Teams will be given specfic challenges on the Friday by email or can be collected at concept and holla skateshops, this , is when King of the Craic will begin!

More details will follow, but challenges will be so that you can do a lot of them ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY!

Some teams may have to travel to complete some challenges,(eg. skate a full pipe) but there will be enough challenges that can be done in your home town/village that you could accumulate as much points as a team with a car/money to travel. (eg. do a triple kickflip, film a line with all skaters in team etc.)

For any more info and a full list of the guidelines visit www.bogginzine.com or email Kellz.

Andrew Reynolds GVR footage

As we reported yesterday, the Goof vs Regz competition was won by the Regular team, including Andrew Reynolds who is featured in this little video from Active, as well as Terrell Robinson, Billy Marks and David Loy.

Makes you wonder if this was just a warm-up run, my guess is yes.

Cantelowes left in the dark

As you all know it is getting dark early now and Camden are going to shut Cantelowes skatepark at 4pm and without the use of the football pitch lights it will be impossible to skate for most people.

We need to drive them mad with comments and emails. We need lights for the skate park and for them to close at 9pm. Or later if we can push for it. Please take time out even if you just send one email or comment. The more pressure they get, the more likely action will take place.

The link below gives you a list of options of how to get into contact with the council.

And wait for it, first prize for the street competition is a massive £100,000, with $75,000 for 1st place vert, and $25,000 for 1st place in the women’s comp. Better get some serious training in then.

Regulars take the title

Regular came back with a vengeance and won the fourth annual etnies GvR yesterday, putting the Goofies back in their place.

The Regulars put a stop to the Goofy winning streak, scoring 1951.75 points over Goofy’s 1910 points. Rick McCrank was voted MVP by the Regulars, and he certainly earned it with his big bag of tricks throughout the finals!

The Regulars put Slap Magazine editor Mark Whiteley in charge, and he hand picked Ryan Sheckler, Andrew Reynolds, Leo Romero, Rick McCrank, and Sean Malto as the starting five for the finals. It was one of the remaining ten regular qualifiers, Luan De Oliveira that scored the most points for his team and took home 15,000 bucks.

The event was finished off in the evening by a huge gig from Yeah Yeah Yeah’s who took the stage in the parking lot above the skatepark in front of the more than 7,000 fans
