Wainwright discusses Urban Kreation clothing

5050’s Danny Wainwright has signed up to Urban Kreation clothing, a new concept of toughened streetwear that is meant to be stronger than most others for skating with the use of Kevlar.

Congrats to Jody Smith has hooked up with Spanish skateboard company Nomad Skateboards this week. The West Country skater joins Raul Navarro, Petr Hovat, Honza Minol, Jose De La Rosa on the team welcomed with an edit you should cast your eyes over right here.

Look out for his pro model available in March this year.

Freestyle get green light to build West Ealing skatepark

The campaign for a skatepark in West Ealing in London took a step further into the right direction yesterday as it was announced that Freestyle Skateparks are the company that have won the pitch to design and build the park.

According to the latest press release the park will be designed in the next 3 weeks and will be built to open in July 2011. If you would like to attend the design meeting then note that it is scheduled for Thursday 3rd February at 5pm to met at the Staff Entrance at Perceval House on Longfield Avenue. Design Assistant position at Freestyle Skateparks

Freestyle skateparks are looking for a Design Assistant this month to work in the Rickmansworth/Watford area of England. Candidates need to be creative & self sufficient, passionate about skateboarding and understand what goes into making a great skatepark. Excellent CAD / Illustrator skills would be needed alongside knowledge of rendering / 3D software and the construction industry would be beneficial but not essential as training will provided.

You will be responsible for assisting the Design Manager and will have a varied role including a ‘hands on’ input into all aspects of skatepark design & build, CAD work, rendering, drawing revisions, document control, liaising with engineers, preparing tender documentation, research and development, web, social networking and general office duties.

Etnies team up with Autism Speaks

Etnies have announced today that they will be releasing a series of shoes in collaboration with Autism Speaks, a reknowned charity dedicated to raising awareness of autism and funding research. A portion of all proceeds of every Etnies X Autism Speaks Fader and RVM kid’s shoes sold will be donated to to Autism Speaks, with a minimum of $10,000 a year. This is in aid of developing invaluable resources and treatment for those diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. For a little perspective, that’s 1 in every 110 children.
