Mr J Medeiros from the Procussions is to release a solo record next month.

The rapper-cum-producer has lined up 15 tracks for Of Gods And Girls and has production from the likes of Hocus Pocus’ 20syl, Stro the 89th Key of the Procussions, Headnodic of Crown City Rockers and the ever brilliant Joe Beats. The tracklisting is:

Dave Navarro and Perry Farrell have been hitting out at one another in the press.

Talking of the band’s third split [in 2002], Farrell said that the band fell apart after Navarro started to front the reality show Rock Star on TV. Navarro’s reply came on his blog saying that this couldn’t be the case as he only got the call about hosting the show after Navarro’s side project had begun recording a demo.

Farrell then countered that he [Farrell] “brought Jane’s Addiction to life, it is only fitting that I am the one to bury her” which Navarro recently replied to by saying:

“OK. So which is it? “‘Rock Star’? He broke it up? We did? Either way it was four years ago so I think it’s about time to let it go.”

Apparently we all care.

MIA has released the tracklisting for her new album.

Kala will be released in August as the follow up to Arula in 2005. The album will feature 12 tracks, including the single Boyz which was released this week. The album will also feature Timbaland on the closing track. The tracklist is:

Timbaland has been arrested following a fight in a bar.

The super-producer was apparently involved in the fight after the man known only as Robert F, objected to his girlfriend talking to the rapper.

Reports say that racist slurs were shouted and this enraged Timbaland. He was taken to jail and released on bail early on Monday morning.

Machine Head are teaming up with Trivium, Dragonforce and Arch Enemy on a rampage through the UK.

The Black Crusade Tour will also feature another special guest act and looks set to dominate the country when it comes over at the end of the year. Rob Flynn said of the tour:

“We’re so goddamned jacked-up to do this! It’s going to be completely fucking sick! We cannot wait to plunder all of the vodka in all your towns and see our beer-breathed brethren pillaging along side us. We’re stoked to be sharing stages and brown-eyes with our boys in Trivium once again and are looking forward to hanging out with all the other bands.”

Outkast’s Andre 3000 is set to play the role of Sammy Davis Jr in an upcoming film according to a report in the New York Times.

The film will concentrate on the singer’s relationship with Kim Novak, which caused much controversy at the time because it was an inter-racial relationship. Andre 3000 has recently featured in the films Idlewild and Charlotte’s Web and is currently working with Will Ferrell on Semi-Pro.

Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx has recently held a press conference to talk about his upcoming side project the Heroin Diaries.

The side project will feature a book and a soundtrack recorded by Sixx’s side project 6AM, Heroin Diaries will pick up the darker aspects of the band’s biography The Dirt and looks at the bass player’s decline into the world of drugs in the late 80s.

No Doubt will head back into the studio for their first album in six years, but Gwen Stefani won’t be with them.

The singer is currently on her solo album tour in America but the rest of the band have said that won’t stop them going into the studio. Adrian Young of the band said that the three musicians will lay down songs with music only and then Gwen will be laying vocals down when she’s done with her tour.

The record is expected to be ready for release in 2008.

The Bled have finished recording their new album, Silent Treatment.

The album will hit the shops in autumn and features 11 songs. The band said of the release:

“I’m not gonna barage you with a bunch of adjectives and cliche descriptions of what it sounds like, but just know that we are more confident and excited to be in this band now because of this record.”
