Legendary Californian punk rockers Social Distortion will release a Greatest Hits compilation through Epitaph Records on June 25th.

Along with classic Social Distortion cuts such as ‘Mommy’s Little Monster’, ‘Story Of My Life’ and their cover of Johnny Cash’s ‘Ring Of Fire’, the record will feature the brand new song (and future single) ‘Far Behind‘.

Mike Ness and co are currently planning a worldwide tour to support the album, and are also working on a new studio album – the follow-up to 2004’s ‘Sex, Love And Rock & Roll’.The full tracklisting is as follows:

Architects, Panic Cell and As I Lay Dying are among the new batch of bands that have been added to the Download bill.

Other groups include Cat The Dog, Cynic, Eliot Minor, Lost Alone, Flood Of Red and Silverstein for the festival which takes place at Donington Park from June 8th-10th, and sees My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park and Iron Maiden headline.

The Go! Team are to release their new album on September 10th it has been announced.

The album, their first since Thunder, Lightning, Strike in 2004, will be preceeded be two singles – Grip Like A Vice on July 2nd and Doing It Right on September 3rd. Guests on the album will be Soulex, The Rappers Delight Club and Brazilians Bonde Do Role. The band will play the following dates:

Angels And Airwaves will be playing a one off show in London this August.

The band will hit the Astoria on August 24th before their appearances at the Carling Weekend dates in Reading and Leeds [on August 24th-26th]. The new Tom DeLonge band are planning on following up 2006’s We Don’t Need To Whisper with a new album this year.

Reports are coming in that the new Beastie Boys album will be followed with another edition featuring vocals from other artists.

Mike D said in a recent interview that the band made a list of who they like and who likes them. Names that he threw in included M.I.A, Snoop and man of the moment Mark Ronson. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it all sounds very interesting indeed.
