Southern Records v A Badge Of Friendship

A Badge Of Friendship have joined forces with Southern Records for a new album night.

It will all kick off at The Fly on March 7th with ABoF and Southern Records DJs battling it out on “the decks of doom”. Expect to hear music from Les Savy Fav, Weezer, Beck, Minus The Bear, Fugazi, Oxes, Pavement, Q and not U, Daft Punk and more. This non-stop party action will happen on the first Friday of every month after that.

Neon Neon announce London date

Neon Neon will play their first live show of 2008 in March.

Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys and producer Boom Bip will be playing a live set at Fabric on March 20th alongside Youthmovies and Ipso Facto. Neon Neon’s debut album, Stainless Style, which features Spank Rock, will be out on March 17th.

Air reissue Moon Safari

Air will release a special, limited edition version of their album Moon Safari to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The album was originally released in 1998 and sold two million copies, has been expanded with an extra CD featuring remixes, radio sessions and rarities. The reissue is released on March 31st with the following tracklisting:

Atmosphere paint it gold…

Atmosphere have premiered their new YouTube show.

Slug and Ant will be running these videos from now until their new album, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, is released on April 21st. They want fans to send in questions to paintitgold@hotmail.com and they will read and answer the best ones each week.

Tool to start writing album number 5

Tool have revealed they are to start work on their fifth album soon.

Frontman Maynard James Keenan told MTV.com that the band will be getting together to work on ideas: “We’re going to start writing the new Tool record right away.”

Keenan added: “The music always comes first. We all get in a room, shut out all the extra noises from the other people and what goes on outside the room and just focus on the four of us, where we are that day. And then we just start making sounds.”

Tool’s last album was 2006’s ‘10,000 Days‘.

The Blackout play intimate London show

The Blackout have announced they are to play a tiny London show later this month.

The band will appear at Camden’s Dublin Castle on 26th February, with a limited number of tickets on sale now – fans will need to be 18+ to get in.

The Blackout release new single ‘It’s High Tide Baby’ the day before, on 25th February.
