The duo, who have been wowing people up and down the country with their album Oracular Spectacular, said they want to start writing the new album but haven’t had the time yet. Andrew Van Wyngarden said:
“We’ve been longing to get in the studio for a while because we got out of it recording our last album about a year ago. We’re definitely ready to start working on some new stuff.”
Friendly Fires have announced details of an intimate gig in London.
The band, who will be playing sets at Reading and Leeds Festivals and who recently played the John Peel stage at the Glastonbury Festival, will be playing the Soho Revue Bar on July 24th.
The gravestone of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis has been stolen.
The stone was taken from a cemetary in Macclesfield and Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris said:
“I just don’t understand why anyone would do it. You couldn’t sell it on eBay – it’s ridiculous and very upsetting.”

Travis McCoy has been arrested for assault.
The Gym Class Heroes singer was the victim of racial abuse on the St. Louis leg of the Warped Tour and subsequently broke his microphone over the man’s head. He has since been released on a $500 bond.
