The series, which has been done by Aesop Rock in the past, is a 45 minute track “dedicated to joggers”. The turntablist/DJ/producer said of the mix:

“I don’t really run, but I got excited by the musical challenge…I had to weave sounds together so the runner didn’t get interrupted or distracted.”

De La Rocha’s new project revealed

Zack De La Rocha has teamed up with Jon Theodore for a new project.

The Rage Against The Machine frontman and the former Mars Volta drummer are collectively known as One Day As A Lion. The record has been described as “a stripped down attempt to realise this sentiment in sound” referring to the photograph of the same name which bears the legend: “It’s better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb.”

The EP will be released on July 22nd on Anti- Records.

Justice to produce new Chili’s album?

Justice are reported to be the producers for the next Chili Peppers album.

A report in The Sun has claimed that is next for the French duo, though quite why The Sun knows this and no-one else in the music industry does is anyone’s guess. And, er, that’s it.

Gallows update!

Gallows recently updated their MySpace with news on their eagerly-awaited second album.

The band said:

“So seeing as it feels like we released Orchestra Of Wolves back in the 19th century, we thought we’d give you a little update on what’s happening with the new record. We’ve been writing for the last few weeks and have about a dozen tracks that we feel could go on the album so far. BUT… we also plan to write a whole load more before we begin recording so this album is going to be all Killer no Filler.

Recording is scheduled to begin on September 1st with the producer GGGarth Richardson who’s worked with legendary bands like Rage Against The Machine, Melvins & Red Hot Chili Peppers. We’re really excited to begin recording and we hope to have the record released worldwide in February 2009. So it’s a little while off yet but will be worth the wait!”
