Joker to release new single
Joker is set to release new single Holly Brook Park later this month.
The dubstep producer who released Gully Brook Lane earlier this year as well as remixing the likes of Simian Mobile Disco and Roni Size, will put his new single out on Bristol’s Kapsize. The 12″ will be a double A-side release with the track 80s backing Holly Brook Park.

Portishead plan fourth album
Portishead will work on a new album this year.
This is one of the reasons that the band are not playing any more live shows for the rest of the year. Adrian Utley confirmed that the band wanted to work on a new album so fans didn’t have a huge wait after Third. He went on to say:
“We got together the other night discussing stuff and getting a bit of a plan together. We’re all gonna be doing stuff. We’ve finished our touring for this album for this year because of things that we want to do.”

Lil’ Wayne goes into booze making
Lil’ Wayne is planning to launch his own brand of champagne later this year.
The rapper, who released Tha Carter III earlier this year which sold one million copies in its first week, will call his bubbly Halo and will be released in four types -Halo Brut, Halo Brut Vintage, Halo Rose and Halo Pinnacle. Abjekt is delirious over this news and he doesn’t even drink, praise indeed.

Funeral For A Friend are releasing one half of their new double A-side single as a free download.
Waterfront Dance Club, which is paired with Beneath The Burning Tree, will be available for free download from July 14th. The double A-side vinyl will be released on the same day and the album Memory And Humanity will be released on October 13th.

“BAD NEWS – Dave got admitted into hospital last night. blood tests and everything are on the go. we sort of know what hes got but Dr Spock will confirm…GOOD NEWS – this is the plan…………we STILL going on tour. unheard off u may ask. what will we do? well we got a plan b . will see if it works or not. .ha. will be a laff anyway. – the show must gone on as they say.”

Busta Rhyme to play free gig
Busta Rhymes will play a free gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall for young volunteers in the city.
5,000 tickets for the September 26th show have been made available for people who volunteer for four hours on a community project, 50 of which have been set up by the organisers Orange RockCorps. There will be projects in Manchester, Cardiff, Southampton and Newcastle and the concert, which will feature three other artists, will be shown on TV.
