Animal Collective release EP

Animal Collective release EP, take a break from touring

Having already released one of the most widely acclaimed records of the year, Animal Collective are set to follow up Merriweather Post Pavilion in November with a five track EP entitled Fall Be Kind. Band member Avey Tare (a.k.a Dave Portner) explains in an interview with pitchfork, “the melodies are definitely darker. It’s not abrasive dark or anything, but I think the mood of it has just a little bit more of a nighttime, kind of dark, sad vibe.” The tracklist reads as follows;

1. Graze
2. What Would I Want? Sky
3. Bleed
4. On A Highway
5. I Think I Can

The band have had an extremely productive few years, and look set to take a break from touring in 2010. Portner continues, “We’ve done a lot of it in the past two years. At this point, it’s time for us to take a break.”
