ATP Festival have announced the second curator for 2010 – Matt Groening!
The man behind The Simpsons and Futurama took control of the Long Beach version of the festival in 2003 and has agreed to do the same for the UK version on May 7th-9th.
Tickets are priced at £160 for a room only and £170 including self-catering and go on sale on October 16th from www.atpfestival.com
The Misfits will release a new 12″.
The “maxi-single” will be called Land of the Dead and also feature a track called Twilight of the Dead. Both songs were written by Jerry Only and were reportedly inspired by George Romero’s zombie films. More details will be available on the official site.

The Hickey Underworld released their eponymous debut album yesterday and to mark the release, the band have uploaded an exclusive interview with the director of the gruesome and controversial viral phenomenon that is their video for single ‘Blonde Fire’. Here, eccentric Joe Vanhouttegem talks candidly about his vision and creation, which has seen even Kanye West blogging about the Belgian rockers!

Chickenhawk have now been confirmed to play the Crossfire Halloween Massacre this year on Sat 31st October and they fucking rock! We saw them play at the Fly in London this Saturday night and they blew the place apart. Check out their latest video for their EP on Brew Records ‘I hate this, do you like it?’ – we love it!
Municipal Waste have announced some UK dates.
The band will hit these shores as part of their Waste the World tour which sees the band head to Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway and beyond. The dates in the UK are:

February 2nd – Leeds, The Cockpit
February 4th – London, The Scala
All Tomorrow’s Parties have announced Pavement will curate ATP in May next year.
The band will curate the weekend of May 14th to 16th next year after having reformed with the line-up of Mark Ibold, Scott “Spiral Stairs” Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West. Tickets go on sale this Friday [October 9th] with earlybird tickets at £150 and £160 with catering. Tickets are sure to fly so make sure you get in quick.
