Stream new Devo album

Last week was Devo week here at Crossfire after listening to new album Something for Everybody, and then chatting about it with the band’s Mark Mothersbaugh. Our interview will go online with the launch of Crossfire 3.0, so you’ll have to sit tight until then.

Veronica Falls release new single

Veronica Falls are back this week with a new double A-side 7” to be released today through No Pain in Pop. Having impressed us here at Crossfire with their previous single “Found Love in A Graveyard”, anticipation is high for this new single. The two tracks included on the single are “Beachy Head” and “Staying Here”.

Kid Cudi arrested

Kid Cudi was been arrested in New York City last Friday.

The rapper, who also stars in How To Make It In America, was brought in on charges of “criminal mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance”. Regardless, he was able to perform a the Bonnaroo festival saying he “really wanted to be here tonight”.

New Motion City Soundtrack video

Motion City Soundtrack have unveiled a new video for their track ‘A Life Less Ordinary (Need a Little Help)’. The World Cup themed video features clips of the USA football team playing behind the band’s music.

The band released their 4th album, ‘My Dinosaur Life’, earlier this year, and are set to play the Reading and Leeds festivals this coming August.

The Vaselines announce new album + tour

The Vaselines have announced details of a new album and UK tour scheduled for this September.

The Scottish indie-pop group’s new record will be only their second studio album to date, and first since initially reforming back in 2006. The new album, entitled Sex with an X, will be released through Sub Pop on September 14th.

Meanwhile, the band will play a ten date tour of the UK, calling in the following places;

Wu-Tang Clan are UK bound

Legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan are heading over to the UK this August for two rare live performances.

The full living line up of Method Man, Mastakilla, GZA, Ghostface, U-God, Raekwon, RZA, Inspectah Deck, Cappadona, Mathematics and Streetlife will perform in Manchester and London.

Tickets for these not to be missed shows went on sale this morning, as the group play the following dates.

August

3rd – Manchester, Academy
4th – London, Brixton Academy

Ninja Tune announce 20th birthday event

Ninja Tune has announced a huge line-up for their 20th birthday event, set to take place in London on October 2nd.

Taking place in Ewen St. Car park near Southwark, the bill includes Roots Manuva, Bonobo, Daedelus, Toddla T and the label’s founders Coldcut.

More bands added to Sonisphere

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Gary Numan have been added to the bill for this year’s Sonisphere, who shall join the likes of Iron Maiden, Slayer and Rammstein at the event.

Other new names include Six hour Sundown, General Fiasco and Voodoo Six, playing the Knebworth based festival which shall take place between July 30th and August 1st.
