Not many skate videos have won Palme d’Or for the Best Short Film at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival, but Skaterdater scooped it back in 1965 and rolled on back home to America with the prize – pre Dogtown & Z Boys.

Produced by Marshal Backlar and written and directed by Noel Black, this clay wheel story about a girl and rival skate gangs is a timeless classic that didn’t even need words. Get the teas on and press play.
