Refused are back!

We all thought it would never happen, but Refused are back!

The Swedish hardcore band have done the unthinkable and reformed for Coachella and Swedish festival Way Out West, marking the first live appearances since the late 1990s. Speaking of the decision, the band said:

“It’s been a motley 14 years since our band came apart. We’ve all kept busy in our respective endeavors but we’ve all remained friends and kept in touch. There have been offers, and lots of jokes about these offers. We’ve sort of looked down from our high horses and made fun of people who’ve just wanted to share the psychopathic intensity that we would deliver on a nightly basis in our post-pubescent prime. A reunion has just seemed irrelevant to us. Too much other shit to do”

Additional dates will be added on the official site.

At The Drive In, Firehose & Refused reform for Coachella

The Coachella Music Festival in the US announced its line up this morning with various British bands such as Florence and the Machine, Madness, Noel Gallagher, Madness and others confirmed to play on the bill in April. The biggest surprise though was the addition of three bands who have reformed this week. LA’s At The Drive In are officially ‘operational’ so says their twitter account this morning. Mike Watt’s Firehose have been added to the bill but not officially mentioned their new plans and Refused are back and are excited to ‘see you in the pit’ from a statement over night.

The festival will take place over 2 weekends in April (13th-15th and 20th-22th) in Indio, California. Fingers crossed these bands all have plans to visit the UK for Reading, Sonisphere or Download this summer. Watch this space.
