Whilst going through a tonne of footage and photos, old magazines and memorabilia from various skaters around the world, Jono Atkinson came across an old cine film sent from Australia with unseen footage from Skate City back in 1977. The unedited footage owned by Ron Williams is an amazing find and and no doubt the tip of the iceberg as he trawls through various content whilst editing his ongoing Welsh skate documentary Over Plywood that will premiere on Crossfire once it is completed.
Skate City was situated on the banks of the Thames near to Tower Bridge and was a phenomenon at the time when it opened. These photos were scanned from Skateboard Magazine in October 1977. Find the full article here.
