Maverick Skateparks opened another new skatepark this month in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. The park has a mix of transition and street and was designed by Maverick’s Russ Holbert with the input of the local riding community.

“The park has been split up into 3 main areas, the idea behind the facility is that the routes around the skatepark link up so they can work as one long flowing run or separate areas when the park is busy'” explains Holbert. “The shape and style of the skatepark is dictated by the different riding lines and is broken up with green space with a seating area.”

The design features a raised street area with ledges and rails, a bowled out, open-ended miniramp and flatbank hip with manual pad. The park offers the more experienced riders considerable challenges but importantly features elements that are perfect for learning and will encourage younger users to get involved.
