Charlton Skatepark opening jam in Greenwich

London’s newest skatepark build by Bendcrete is about to open in Greenwich on Saturday 21st October with a session for everyone now that the ‘crete has dried.

The park went through the usual council hoops to raise a sizeable chunk of cash to build this thanks to the hard graft of local skateboarder, Stuart Hopper and others who formed the Greenwich Skate Park Co-Op.

Following a long and hard battle with Greenwich borough politics the park finally got a green light and was co-funded by Berkeley Homes, who allegedly did not want a skatepark anywhere near its luxury apartments due to noise and graffiti and chipped in to move it 3 miles away.

Head down there, session it, meet the locals and see what all the fuss is about. Newbies can also book School of Skate lessons on Saturday mornings too from November. Head to schoolofskate.co.uk for all info.
