Parlour x Lakai Go Skateboarding Day feature

Go Skateboarding Day is a beautiful thing. Everyone rolling together with only one thing in mind. There were various options for cruises this year in London, but the success of Lakai‘s venture last year meant that it was favourable on Friday June 21st. Backed with the fact that Lakai’s history as a skater owned brand twinned with their choice of skater owned shop Parlour, this cruise was a no brainer.

Starting at Mile End in the rain, a strong mob joined Jesus Fernandez, Sebo Walker, Enrique Lorenzo, Danny Brady and Nick Jensen for the trip. Enjoy the footage, and follow their fun to Canary Wharf thanks to the wonderful photography of Maksim Kalanep.

Moones launch first interactive drunk music video

We all know that YouTube’s annotations are generally a pain in the arse, but UK band Moones decided to use it to their own alcoholic advantage in their new promo video for new song ‘Better Energy’. They have built in buttons that allow the viewer to choose how drunk they play. You watch them play in usual pre-pub time, and then have 3 other options until they are hammered.

London band Moones are made up of three members. Lags Barnard who you may know from his work in Gallows on guitar, Tariq Khan, whose sister is Bat For Lashes and Ollie Kristian, ex-member of The Leisure Society. the trio have definitely found a great way to entertain their audience.

Go through the motions with them here and hope that in phase 2 that there’s a sick button.

I Am Legion

I Am Legion
‘Make Those Move’
Division Records/Par Excellence

iamlegion.co.uk

If you are a Noisia fan already then there’s no point in explaining the superior production qualities that they bring to the EDM scene, and if you are into your UK Hip Hop you would have definitely bumped into the upbeat tunes of Foreign Beggars. They have worked on a couple of projects before but this week, they have announced an album project collab under the new name of I Am Legion and together, they have made a concoction of aural abuse that will blow a dance floor to pieces in seconds.

Merging a fantastic combination of rap and electronic beats, this bass-fueled filth should be illegal. It’s brash, bold and comes packed with a serious punch. Soundwise you better have decent bass bins to get the full effect as this packs such a punch when turned up loud it rattles your inner ear on 11.

In terms of the collabs between these two artists, 2009’s ‘Contact’ tune was a banger, ‘Shell Shock’ pushed it to another level, ‘Soul Purge’ opened the doors for annihilation. I Am Legion is a monster. Get on this.

Look out for live shows at ‘Electric’ in Brixton on the 26th September and UKF’s ‘In Motion’ in Bristol on the 28th.

The return of Tom Crowe

tomcrowe_skateboardingTom Crowe and myself have spent some good sessions together over the years. He lives in Morocco thesedays and loves a bit of surfing, but came back home recently for a quick shred.

This NBD at Eaton skate park went down first time, but Spex was there to capture another. Go Croweman, you are sorely missed.
