Nyjah Huston’s OG Fade to Black edit

nyjah_huston_skateboard_fade_to_black

You’ve seen Nyjah Huston‘s final cut of Fade to Black with Metallica leading the soundtrack, and just recently, the behind the scenes edit. Now watch the original edit that was drafted with Meek Mill and Rick Ross bringing the shit talk to the soundtrack. Must have been the “pussy smells like fish” lyric that prompted the change. Sorry ‘hustlers’.

Rodney Mullen – Almost a re-edit

It takes a brave man to re-edit Rodney Mullen‘s classic footage as there’s so much of it that is relevant, but Harry Garcia has tackled it with the acid-tinged soundtrack of Jimi Hendrix and a dose of Massive Attack in this new montage.

Read our interview with Rodney back in 2005 here.

Filmer Miguel Valle has come good with a new part featuring friend and Habitat cruiser Mark Suciu today. Asked about leaving Habitat Skateboards in a new interview Suciu has stated:

“Oh definitely not, I’m sticking with Habitat. I feel like I’m a pretty big part of Habitat and I think if I left I’d be throwing them under the bus. Of course, the main weight of the team is held by Silas [Baxter-Neal], Stefan [Janoski], Freddy [Gall] – the big gamers – but I think that I play a part too, and if I just were to go away it would be shady after all they’ve done and what they mean to skating. I’m definitely sticking around.”

Enjoy this new part.

WIRE reissue ‘Document & Eyewitness’

WIRESeminal art-punks Wire have announced that their 1981 live album Document & Eyewitness, is due for reissue August 18th via Pink Flag Records.

The album documents a particularly eventful night and period of Wire’s enigmatic career. The fateful night at Camden’s Electric Ballroom saw their set accompanied by demonstrative performance art. Highlights include such acts as an individual beating a gas cooker with a hammer, a woman pulling two bound men across the stage, an illuminated goose and masked percussionists sporting newspaper headdresses. One band member donned an exaggerated beekeeper’s veil, while others wore morris-dancing bells. Veering back and forth between the playful and the profane, this was a combination of performance art and absurdist farce.

Document & Eyewitness will be released on double LP, double CD and as a legal bootleg series featuring the unedited gig recordings. Hit play below for a preview of the madness.
