‘Silverback’
Sexx Tapes
Kick off the week with your ears stinging as Brighton’s GANG emerge with their treacherous head-banger of a new single, ‘Silverback’.
As soon as this monstrous riff kicks in you almost jolt 40 years back in time. These three scuzz mongers make no attempt to hide their love for ‘70s throwback octofuzz and maxed out organ tones that Jon Lord himself would surely give a tip of the hat to. Vocally, frontman Eric Tormey stands alone, howling his pained damnations high above the din.
Coated in sludge, GANG catapult into their filthy basement jam B-side with gusto. Mashing slack chord abuse against a fierce throat shredding mantra, this trio are daring you to question ‘Not A Reason’ as the ideal house party scream-along.
The ‘Silverback’ cassette also features a bonus mix by fellow Brightonite and fuzz advocate Theo Verney, grab a copy of this sludgy sleaze via Sexx Tapes from January 30th.
Girl have kicked off 2015 with a new ‘Lose Your Marbles’ deck series featuring 10 pro decks including the Cory Kennedy (8.0), Eric Koston (8.25), and Rick McCrank (8.375) decks, as well as the rest of the team in various sizes.
This Guy Mariano pro model comes in as an 8.125″ x 31.3″ size. Check your local skateshop to order these in soon.

Dylan Goldberger – ollie up bs lip
Max Hull’s hard drive needed a clear out so take in a bunch of footage featuring Max Palmer, Cyrus Bennett, Kohlton Ervin, Andrew Wilson, Jason Byoun, Conor Prunty, JT Gleason, Dylan Goldberger, Chris Sarte, Matt Connor, Yoshi Ebata, John Gardner and many more shredding around NY.
Footage of a session filmed this weekend at the Prahran Skatepark in homage to the much missed Lewis Marnell has surfaced from Melbourne, Australia.
Lewis spoke to us in an interview back in 2008. He was one of the most polite and naturally talented skateboarders that has been through our set up and sorely missed. Rest in peace bro.
Crazy to think this tour happened seven years back now. Antihero and Girl joined forces for a roadtrip and came back with all sorts of visual treats. The 20 minute tour video hit the web this week. Get the teas on for Beauty and the Beast 1.
Sheffield locals Owen Jones and Connor Roman have decided to hit the road this May after becoming frustrated in their hometown and fed up with the daily grind.
In an attempt to meet more skaters across Europe and generally have a blast, the duo will hit the open road to Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and The Netherlands with nothing but one bag each, a deck, some cameras and a tent in their own search of Animal Chin.*
“We both felt like we’ve been stuck in the UK with absolutely no way of making our dreams come true and no way of staying in the skate scene without conforming to the 9 to 5 lifestyle, which, for me, is not what life is about”, says Connor. “We have a basic route planned. As expected we will be filming our journey from start to finish. The strange thing is, we have no idea about what the video will actually be about or focus on. All we know is the things captured on film could change our lives and set us up for the skate crew/company we want to start when we arrive home. If anybody in England or across Europe wants to get involved and help us out with maybe the most basic of essentials, we would be beyond grateful.”
We are backing it because this pair are giving it a go and getting the hell out of dodge as opposed to sitting there waiting for something to happen. You can donate some wonga to assist their mission, or even donate basic supplies. Not knowing what’s round the next corner is what life is all about.
Whether they make it out of their first destination (Amsterdam) or not, you should back it. Follow their journey on their FB page and we will bring you footage from their trip when their dream comes to fruition.
* If you have no idea what this means, get the teas on tonight.
