R.I.P Mark Linkous

March 8th, 2010 by Crossfire

Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous has committed suicide, his family have confirmed.

The songwriter, just 47, died on Saturday with a gunshot wound in his heart.

As reported last week, plans had recently been put in place for the physical release of Dark Night of the Soul, his collaboration with Danger Mouse and David Lynch.

Sparklehorse, meanwhile managed three critically acclaimed albums and had nearly completed another, which was set to be released on Anti- in the near future.

Our hearts go out to Linkous’ family and friends during this difficult time.
