Pumpkins make live comeback

The Smashing Pumpkins played their highly anticipated live return last night [May 22nd] at the Paris Grand Rex.

It was the first time the band have played live since their “farewell” show in Chicago in December 2000. They played new material United States, Starz, Doomsday Clock, That’s The Way (My Love Is), Neverlost and the upcoming single Tarantula.

Older favourites such as Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Today, Disarm and 1979 were also played.

The show saw three new members unveiled, though they were not named by Billy Corgan. They were a female bass player and keyboard player and a male guitarist. The new album, Zeitgeist, is due for release on July 7th and will no doubt be showcased at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
