Public Enemy album auction

An auction is taking place in New York this month for a Public Enemy album, but not a record or CD… the actual rights! The auction winner will own full rights to the recording and will be able to do whatever they please with it. The album is a live show by Public Enemy which took place in Helsinki in 1999 and is owned by PPX Enterprises and a spokesperson for the auctioneers has said:

“It’s not actually Chuck D that’s selling the album. PPX owns the rights, title and interest, and ownership in this album. Chuck D does not own this album. The person who wins the bid, or who buys the album will receive the digital master recording, the original artwork, and all associated rights”.

Live versions of tracks list Bring The Noise and Fight The Power are included and will be sold at an auction that will also feature a sale of Hendrix assets.
