MF Doom – Bumper news

MF Doom has always been one of the most prolific rappers out there in terms of sheer numbers of releases and 2007 looks set to continue that trend. To start with, his classic Operation: Doomsday record will be re-issued by Rhymesayers, as it had been forced out-of-print due to remoured sample clearance. The new edition is thought to be in a deluxe digipack with additional tracks and a DVD featuring both live footage and videos. A re-issue for the also-pulled MM…Food is being planned too.

Madvillain 2, the highly anticipated follow up to the hugely popular Madvillainy [Doom and Madlib] was due out in 2007 but this is on the back burner now as it is thought that the two men haven’t had any serious recording time together. But there is a new track on the Stone’s Throw Chrome Children LP, so pimp that for now but an album that is expected to be out next year is the Ghostface/Doom collabo, which apparently is top of the priority list for the Wu member.

Finally, Kid Robot, who have done plastic renditions of Biggie and Gorillaz, are going to put out an 8.5″ figure of Madvillain, on a limited run. Expect this to go like hotcakes [or should that be Hoe Cakes?].
