Get Up Kids aim for UK dates

Ryan Pope, drummer of influential emo originals The Get Up Kids has confirmed that the band are hoping to play some UK shows in May.Having called it a day during the UK tour in 2004 the five piece have kept themselves busy with various band/label ventures with the Pope brothers taking an active role in the running of Black Lodge Studios as well as numerous band ventures.

Frontman Matt Pryor released a solo album, ‘Confidence Man‘ on Vagrant whilst keyboardist James Dewees has been kept busy touring with My Chemical Romance, New Found Glory and with his side project Reggie and The Full Effect , and guitarist Jim Suptic has set up an indie label Curb Appeal Records.

The band’s reunion coincides with the 10th anniversary of the release of ‘Something to Write Home About’, and following their comeback show in November, they have confirmed appearances at the Bamboozle Festival in May, and the Groezrock Festival in Belgium in April.
