Beastie Boys Adam Yauch fights Cancer
Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch has announced via video this week that he is unfortunately suffering from a form of throat cancer. The band who are about to jet out across the world to promote new album ‘Hot Sauce Committee’ says that his swollen glands on a recent trip to Europe had alarm bells ringing and tests from a specialist revealed sickness.
Talking on YouTube (below) he says “I have a form of cancer in a gland that’s over here (points to his left cheek). It’s in a gland called the parotid gland and it’s also in the lymph node in that area. I’m going to have to have surgery, probably next week (beginning July 27), and then after that have some radiation done in that localised area“. We wish him a speedy and successful recovery.
