Afrika Bambaataa has officially dubbed rapper the1shanti as India Bambaataa.
Afrika Bambaataa said:
“You have our blessings (Afrika Bambaataa and The Universal Zulu Nation) as long as you use your name in the good of your people and the good of yourself.”
The rapper was one of the first rappers out of New York of Indian descent to bring hip hop to India and claims Afrika Bambaataa has a huge influence on his career and actions. the1shanti’s album, which will be also called India Bambaataa, is due for release in late autumn.
