Enjoi leave the UK

Louie Barletta, Caswell Berry and Nestor Judkins stopped by the UK for a five days earlier this month with Jason Adams dropping by for the last two.

A couple of days were spent in the suburbs of London, there was a surprise visit to the Stokeplaza and the likes of Birmingham, Nottingham and Wolverhampton were squeezed into the mission.

Louie and Caswell were sore and hurting from their Germany stop but still managed to come through with the goods…and it has all been snapped and documented for issue #129 of Sidewalk.

You just wait – The spots and tricks are absolutely crackers.

Skateboard inspires car

It’s not the first and we are sure it will not be the last but you would have had to be a ludite not to have noticed that car manufacturers have decided to associate themselves with skateboarders.

UK riders Benny Fairfax and Pete King took offers from the worlds biggest brands to get by and various adverts have used skateboard technical prowess to fuel their ad campaigns.

Now though, an entire concept has been aired by the Discovery Channel based on the very planks that rule our lifestyles – click here for what some people believe to be the future of vehicles…

Archive Gonz Footage

The Gonz is, and always will be one of skateboarding’s most unique individuals, some people worship his steez, others may pull out a wry smile, but whatever you think you have to give it up to Mark Gonzales as he brings light to lives worldwide for more than most.

We just watched this footage of him from back in 1998 and it made us all just want to go out and goof around on our boards, maybe it will have the same effect on you.

Look out for Krooked Skateboards in your local SOS as it’s born for fun and that is what this skateboarding malarkey is all about. Never for get it.

Jereme Rogers Off Girl

Hot topic on the lips of any informed member of the skating universe is Jereme Rogers‘ departure from Girl Skateboards, certainly an important era in the manchild’s life.

Heads at Girl have been quoted to say, “This week we made the decision to relieve Jereme Rogers of his duties at Girl Skateboards. We had a good run. Like one of those killer contest runs of his. Thanks for the good years. Best of luck.”

Now the question is, where will the overly tattooed ledge technician flock off to? Plan B to re-join his former teammates from Coliseum, PJ Ladd and Ryan Gallant? Who knows, but it’s certainly going to be an interesting time for the nollie happy preacher man. We at Crossfire wish him the best of luck in his skateboarding future.

Vans Team on road

Now that the baldess git in the UK, Nic Powley has taken over the reigns at Vans with the UK team, he seems to be on a non-stop mission to get the crew to skate every random corner of our own shores.

Euro rider Chris Oliver, UK riders Ben Grove, Ollie Tyreman, Rogie, James Gardner, and flow dudes Manhead and “Gorgeous” David Watson headed south east for six days of shredding a long list of pretty much untouched (or at least undocumented) skate spots, swimming in all of the rat infested waters they could find and making sure they at least visited Tesco’s once a day for the greasiest meal possible.

The coverage will be in an upcoming issue of Sidewalk with Vans supplying the footage via their web Podcasts in the next few weeks at www.vans.co.uk
