Wild On The Strip 2007

Despite their over-the-top policing strategies seen in some parts of the US on Go Skateboarding Day, those Yanks can really do things well.

Holy shit, I’d have loved to have been there, skating down Las Vegas Strip, with my only worry being accidentally plowing through half a million Elvis impersonators and herds of grotty hookers offering their services in exchange for your poker winnings.

Fuck yes.

Peter Hewitt StrangeNotes

StrangeNotesNow there’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to skate because it’s raining.

Especially so this week as half the country is underwater and people are swapping their skateboards for life jackets and rubber dinghies.

And to makes things even worse, there’s some ridiculously good Peter Hewitt footage up on StrangeNotes.com. Jesus, I want to skate right now.

US pigs are wankers

I heard on the vine of grapes that whilst people were skating the blocks in London on Go Skateboarding Day courtesy of TSEOU, Blueprint and Nike that a policeman actually mentioned to skaters that they should be careful smoking reefers in front of the general public and didn’t make a fuss of it at all? Think yourself lucky we are not in the USA where police are actually total wankers…

Happy Go Skateboarding Day!

$lave Skateboards

Jamie Thomas has added another company to the ever-increasing Black Box brand.

$lave Skateboards has a pretty shithot team including Jon Aliie, Matt Mumford, and Ireland’s own Conhuir Lynn.

Rumours have been circulating that this new company has been set up to get away from Zero’s ‘mall brand’ image, but this isn’t Zero. And the team are sick. Expect big things.

New World Kickflip record

The Krux Kickflip Challenge has been on tour around Europe in an attempt to break the World Record of most kickflips in a row. Why? Who knows, but the record has now been smashed by a 13 year-old kid from Norway.

Magnus Borderwick somehow knocked out 508 kickflips in 1 hour and 24 minutes to beat the previous record of 332 set by Christian Brekke last week!

For the statistics heads out there, little Magnus did one kickflip every 10 seconds. Pointless, or consistent robot skateboarding? Whatever. Well done Magnus. Go buy yourself some new shoes or start a switch kickflip competition.

DuFFS News Update

duffsDuFFS news now, with Adam Howe just returning from a Split Europen tour, Carl ‘Potter’ Wilson joining the Nueu eyewear team and donning some shades, and the ‘Will he? Won’t he?’ deal of Josh Parr joining Black Label.

By the time you read this, I guess we’ll find out. Swede ripper Mattias Nylen killed it in Malmo at the Bowlriders snapping up 6th place! Nice one. Rees the Piece is missing in action, presumed dead, or at least pissed up somewhere. Meanwhile, Cattle is eating grapes and recouping after his knee surgery and could be skating again very soon.

For DuFFS blogging action check out the duffsuk.blogspot.com or geek it up and find them on Myspace for photos and video trickery. Also, go check out Crossfire’s coverage of the DuFFS Concrete Carnage 3 at Romford here.

Emerica Wild In The Streets 2007

WITS 2007The success of Emerica’s Wild In The Streets has led them to try and gather you ‘orrible lot together again for an all day skateboarding reclamation of the streets.
