Fos Real Remix Project deck

The Real Remix Project, which collaborates with artists to produce very limited numbers of deck graphics, has hooked up with Fos to produce some boards.

The Remix series are only run once, all hand numbered and hand tagged, so these things become very collectable pieces of art if you don’t fancy scraping it to pieces on your local curb.

Ask in your local skate shop or check www.dlxsf.com for more details.

Gardner joins UK Vans team

A bit of a news update from the Vans camp this month. First up, congratulations to James Gardner who becomes the latest edition to the ever-increasing UK team.

The opening of the new and improved Bay66 on Saturday saw Kris Vile, Marc Churchil, Danny Wainwright, James Gardner, Chris Oliver, ‘Gorgeous’ Dave Watson, Pete King, Sam Bruce and new boy Ben Nordberg come and tear the place apart. Vile grabbed 2nd place in the sponsored competition after a sick day’s skate.

Over in Malmo, Sweden, Ross McGouran and Kevin McKeon competed in the Quiksilver Bowlriders comp. ‘Meanwhile’ Kev skated his arse off but missed getting into the finals, while Ross killed it with no-comply tailslides, kickflip melons and massively tweaked airs to earn himself 4th place and a £2000 paycheck.

Last weekend saw Marc Churchill celebrate his 29th birthday with a Vans team skate at Interact skatepark followed by copious amounts of boozing at their hotel. Congrats Marc, only a year until the big 3-Oh eh?

Meanwhile Kev and Darryl ‘Cov Sid’ Nobbs headed down to Bournemouth to do some demos at the Spring Break Fest this weekend. In between chatting up girls in bushes and Russian girls copping off with skinheads, Darryl grabbed 1st and Kev got 2nd in the bowl comp. Stoked!

Bones sabotaged

As if there aren’t enough twats in the world, one of them broke into Stockport’s Bones Skatepark on Friday and cut the gas and water mains, partly flooding the place.

Luckily, no-one was hurt as the new owners smelled the gas before turning the lights on, and they said they will still re-open for the end of June despite the setbacks.

The newly refurbished park will be re-named Ukskate-Park, and they are currently looking for artists to submit work for the walls of the park, and volunteers with woodworking, electrical or plumbing skills to help fix the place up. If you can lend a hand, get in touch with Steve@ukskate.com

Get Birdy

Loads of news from the Birdhouse guys this month, these guys are really getting on it recently with footage coming in left, right and centre in preparation for the upcoming video ‘The Beginning’.

Justin “Figgy” Figueroa snatched himself the August cover of Skateboarder magazine with a ridiculous frontside feeble on a beast of a rail. Watch Figgy in action here.

More video feasting with some Brian Sumner footage over at the Adio skatepark. Click as many times as you like on the video page or keep checking out www.briansumner.net

Ginger ninja Shaun White has had his own promo video to officially welcome him to the Birdhouse team and introduce his signature model deck. The Birdhouse site has a competition to win one of them sticks as well. You know the score by now. Blam.

For anything and everything Birdhouse, walk you fingers over you keyboard to www.birdhouseskateboards.com, where all that stuff above can be found. But I’ve just saved you three or four mouse clicks, so you owe me.

DuFFS Concrete Carnage 3

This was the 3rd year of the DuFFS Concrete Carnage at Rom skatepark in Essex. The park was built way back in 1976 and still has so much to offer, lines galore and it can be a full on cruiser or you can get as gnarly as you want to. This park has everything to offer.

Most of the DuFFS squad were in attendance and along with the locals and visiting rippers the session was bound to go off, it didn¹t dissapoint the session moved from one part of the park to the next and with the low key atmosphere loads of good shit was put down. The whole idea behind the Concrete Carnage events has always been to see what can be done at parks that were built before most tricks were even thought about. Rom is a real proving ground, check out the shots and footage and get yourself down to Rom this summer and see what all the fuss is about…..alternatively, you can sit back and watch the video from this event on the top right hand of this page – right click, save as…

Big thanks to Munson for er..being Munson, Gorm for the footage and Gorm for the photo’s – yes we know! There’s bloody 2 of them! We are all doomed!
