Mikey Chin gets in a spin

Mikey Chin has a laugh at possibly the greatest piece of skate architecture to be put in a skatepark, courtesy of Tribute.

Basically, every skatepark should have one of these from now on. Park builders, take note.

DC meet MGMT

I’m sat here in the kitchen cooking up some chicken to MGMT on the stereo when I stumble upon this little number. The DC King of Los Angeles went down courtesy of DC Shoes who opened up the chance for people to roll into a jam format and step up.

Not only does this video come with hammers especially when Vincent Alvarez is concerned, but added goodness comes from the tune ‘Kids’ by MGMT as this band is high on the list of Crossfire’s tips for 2008.

Click below for the full flavour.

Ty Evans interview on Transworld

The unsung heroes of any skateboard videos are the directors, producers, editors and filmers that make them. In the case of Lakai’s Fully Flared, the man behind all of those is Ty Evans.

Whilst you sit at home pissing yourself excited about the premiere on Sunday, have a read about what Ty says about the most epic production since Titanic.

New Flip Am

Suddenly, there is a new rider on Flip. Two days after officially getting on the team, he won the recent GVR contest, beating many of skating’s current elite. Luan de Oliveira is a natural fit for the Flip Team; always smiling, always progressing and probably better than you!

Luan comes from Porto Alegre in the South of Brazil, and has been secretly skating there for the last seven years. It’s probably no coincidence that Ronaldinho comes from his home town, and Luan looks like he is going to make a similar impact on our skateboarding world.

He has only just turned 17, and you can bet your money this young gun is not going to be a “Man Am”.
