MTV ruin rap… again!
As if MTV hadn’t made rap shit already, they’re doing their best to go one step further.
Celebrity Rap Superstar is debuting on MTV tomorrow [30th] and sees celebrities[!] like Perez Hilton try and turn themselves into capable rappers. Warren G, Tone Loc and Paul Wall are among the mentors for the show which basically shows you what a steaming heap of shit it’s going to be.
Tell you what, why not sign 50 Cent up to teach kids how to count, Eminem to hold seminars on loving your wife and Nelly opening fashion boutiques too? Muppets.
Prefuse 73 comes to UK
Prefuse 73 has announced some UK tour dates.
In support of his Preparations album which is released on October 15th and the forthcomnig Class Of 73 Bells single on September 17th, the producer will be hitting 5 dates in October. He will be joined by Battles in Manchester and Anti-Pop Consortium’s Beans in Leeds. The dates are:

16th – London, Scala
17th – Manchester, Apollo 2

New Band Of Horses material
Moose favourites Band Of Horses have posted the first song from their new album online.
The track Is There A Ghost? comes from their new album Cease To Begin which is set for an October 9th release and follows up last year’s Everything All The Time.
I was trying to think of a horse related pun to end on but I can’t think of one. Neigh bother.
Black Flag get reworked from memory
The Dirty Projectors have unveiled a new Black Flag related project.
The band have reworked Damaged through “memory and intuition” and features two female vocalists. The result has been described as “evoking 60s rock, afrobeat, soul and even Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley via Antony & The Johnsons.”

Bo Diddley suffers heart attack
Legendary guitarist Bo Diddley has had a heart attack during a medical check up.
The influential 78 year old felt ill during his check up and was taken straight to the emergency room where he had a heart attack, before going through a surgical procedure to help the blood flow to his heart.
Diddley has had a spate of illnesses, suffering a stroke and losing his toes to diabetes.

Fugazi man shines
Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty is to add another feature to his Burn To Shine series with Mastodon leading the way.
The series sees Canty and film maker Christoph Green travel to towns and film local acts playing in buildings that are due to be burned or demolished, with each film documenting the building, the performance and the demolition.
The latest installment is also due to Mastodon, Black Lips, Snowden, Deerhunter, Delia Gartrell, the Mighty Hannibal, the Carbonas, the All Night Drug Prowling Wolves and the Coathangers among others.
Lily Allen gets murked
Lily Allen got doused in Guinness after trying to rush the stage at this eyar’s Carnival.
The mockney singer tried to grab the mic from reggae signer Bobby Kray. Kray did his duty as a good citizen and poured Guinness over her head, leading to the crowd cheering and Allen doing a runner.
Humiliation is all you deserve sweetcheeks.
Mestizo album details
