Fletcher, guitarist of Pennywise has recently spoken on the band’s new album.
He said that the band have around 60 songs recorded and will spend the next few months “arguing” over which 13 will make the new album. They hope to release the new record in early 2008, which will be the follow up to The Fuse which was released in 2005.

Kings Of Leon have said they are starting on their new record as soon as possible.
The band have also mysteriously said it will be like a Wham record because of “the passion that…will carry on.” Right. In addition Caleb Followill said the band hoped to be in the studio early next year saying:
“We try to strike while the iron’s hot, and we’re writing some really good songs right now.”
As long as there’s no George Michael duet…

Every Time I Die are back and we’re all thanking our lucky stars that they are and with their new album The Big Dirty, they’ve taken a giant leap up towards greatness. Their previous efforts were brilliant, no doubt about that, but the anger, energy and power in this new record transcends everything they’ve done, eclipsing their older material in one fell swoop.
It’s still got the groove that swaggers around like a lottery winner amongst paupers and opening track No Son Of Mine kicks things off as they mean to go on with their typical brand of sonic carnage. With this trend continuing through tracks Cities And Years and the Teen Wolf inspired video led track We’rewolf, there’s no let up as the band pump beats and crunch guitars louder and harder than ever before.
The track you can hear is Pigs Is Pigs and is a perfect example of what to expect from the rest of the record. Turn that fucking dial up suckers. In the words of James Sherry: “Just say it fucking rocks dude”.

Parklife and Girls And Boys are the two tracks you can hear in their earliest forms, before they went on to become Top Ten hits in 1994. We’re just glad they changed into the great tunes they did because these demos sound a bit crap.

Sonic Youth have announced they have recorded a cover for the upcoming Bob Dylan film.
The band have recorded the track I’m Not There with guitarist Lee Ranaldo laying down tracks for the film with guest vocalists such as Eddie Vedder, Karen O, Tom Verlaine and Stephen Malkmus joining him.
The film, also titled I’m Not There is out this year and sees seven actors playing Dylan including Richard Gene, Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett.

Gogol Bordello frontman Eugene Hutz is going to starring in a film.
The eccentric Gypsy Punk is reportedly set to appear in Filth And Wisdom, a film directed by Madonna. The band famously played with the singer recently for Live Earth and as a result Hutz is going to be playing a character called A.K. in the film.
Stiff Little Fingers will release their Don Letts’ directed road movie on September 24th.
Still Burning will feature the Belfast punks being interviewed, playing live from this year’s tour and other interviews with Mike Peters, Stuart Pearce, Ricky Warwick, Gordon Ogilvie, Alan Parker, Nick Welsh, Shirley Sexton, John Ellis, Steve Diggle, Brian Young and Greg Cowan.
To celebrate the release, the band will play at the Virgin store in Tottenham Court Road on September 25th.
